so today I went to my local shop, had a few good laughs and the sales man showed me a Vamo V5. Naturally, I tried it and loved it, but more to that later.

the bad part was my nemesis which I had on me during the visit developed a hard short on the tank whilst reattachign the battery. the tube only suffered minor crimping (do to me trying to break the connection before I realized it was the tank), but worst part is I lost the tiny little brass pin that holds the button to the ring(?) so that you can unscrew and screw in the base. so not only did my panasonic CGR18650CH hard short and is in need of disposal (although the battery itself never got too hot nor did it dangerously deplete), but I lost my Hcigar Nemesis clone =T

So, long story short I'm askin for soem advice. I loved how the vamo hit. it was insta warm and full vapes. 3 puffs on my kanger pro tank 3 (yea, PT3!) and I filled the vapor shop with clouds XD he asked me to stop simply because there jsut was too much

Vamo is too big for me and it has to have a 18650. So I'm asking is there anything that hits just as good as a vamo v5 without breaking the bank? I'd prefer something in gunmetal or black chrome too =P

also, the vamo spoiled me from my mvp. even at 11 watts, it cant seem to match the vamo T_T

Lmao, I've had the exact opposite reaction from you.

Before I get into that though, just a quick little bit of information. The Vamo will work with a 18350.

Anyway, I bought the Vamo V5 for my first mod. I loved it compared to my Vision Spinner. I never did it too high though, staying around 4.3v or 9W when I vape. Well, the Vamo took a left turn and started firing everyting way too high and burning all of my juice. Even popped 2-3 coils. I haven't tested the output, but it vapes the same on 6v as it does on 3v. So it appears to be firing at 6v no matter what setting I have it on.

So then I ordered my MVP 2. I found it LOADS better. Still on 4.2-4.3v it's vaping better than my Vamo ever did. I ordered my Vamo from FastTech, so I just assume I got a bad device.

Honestly, If you like the Vamo, get it. I absolutely LOVED mine until it decided to fire at max every time. I'm sure I can get it fixed, but I only paid 30$ for the device.

even in 18350, its pretty large. and like I mentioned, its gotta be able to use a 18650 if possible since 700 mah from a 18350 just wont last =P

what about a zmax vv/vw? would those be similar?

Also, I cant get my mvp to react the same as that vamo no matter what I set that mvp to. I mean, I notice a difference between the setigns, but its like it takes a second or 2 for the coils to heat on the mvp whereas the coils were insta hot on the vamo

Lol well true, the 18350 would definitely not last the day

I have large hands. The Vamo felt tiny in my hands. I was worried about the size since everything I saw about it said it was huge. Same with the MVP, it disappears in my hands.

I've only noticed about half a second delay going from the Vamo to the MVP. Nothing even noticable unless I was looking for it. Do you have an MVP 1 or 2? Maybe the firing got better on the MVP 2?

-EDIT-
Since I forgot, I've heard good things about the ZMAX, but I've never used it myself.

just shaking my head and wondering why one would use a pt on a mechanical, and by the way, don't ever over tighten a pt on any mod, you can bend the coil wires and create hot spots or cause a short. The nemi has an adjustable center pin that once you screw the atomizer into the 510 head one then tightens the center pin to the atomizer contact post, so , yeah, umm guess you didn't want to take the effort to unscrew the 510 connection to mount the atomizer correctly ehh, and um twisted it down to tight because it wasn't sitting flush.

It does sound like a regulated mod is where you should go before trying mechs again. At least with a regulated mod it protects the user who doesn't understand what needs to be done, and won't fire if you have created a hard short.

what caused the short was 1 of 2 things upon closer inspection;

the kanger pt3's dual coil center pin probably wiggled enough to cause a short. this isnt the first time its happened, although it is indeed the first time on a MECH it happened to me.

and the second thing was the center pin, which I DID unscrew to properly adjust (as always) was bent at a angle. so its possible that the center pin was just grounding to the threaded portion of the tank due to a bad delrin insulator.

I've used my nemesis for 7 months now, it was my second mod. I know how the nemesis works. Please dont assume I'd be foolish enough to just "crank down the tank" because aside from causing a hard short in the tank, that can also force the insulator (happened before, though no battery was in the mod)down out of the cap and force a short.

As to why I was using the kanger, it just happened to have a flavor I liked at the time.

So, if I understand you correctly, you assembled the Nemi with full knowledge of a bent center pin, wondering to self how that happened, and a bad delrin insulator, and vaped on it? without checking for shorts? knowing full well that because of mishandling or defective parts that you had a potential bomb in your hand and you actually continued to use it?

Well that certainly clears up any misconceptions I had about your being foolish or inexperienced. My sincere Apologies are given, did not mean to offend.

right because parts DONT fail after repeated use. I'm so sorry, mr "I'm so epic and uber and love to talk down to people"

Seriously, if you think I'm stupid enough to use a faulty piece of plastic on a high drain lithium unprotected battery and risk it blowing up in my face, then I suppose I need to just delete my account here.

Segelei Zmax v5 is a good choice VV VW you can run 18350,s up to 18650,s mine is gun metal with an 18350 it,s real small and nice to carry around with 18650 I can go all day on one battery they are reasonably priced it,s one of my favourite devices :)

yea the ONLY problem with the zmax v5 (its even in my budget range) is that it telescopes. I mean, if a 18350 can last all day, maybe I can try it, but that difference in thickness due to the telescoping (I hope I made sense there) would drive me nuts if I had it out and about.

Also just dropped off the CGR18650 battery at lowes. So farewell to it and hello to my monkey (MNKE) battery

EDIT:

Jeez, I just see a guy asking questions in the new members forum. I'd help without the attitude if I could but no experience with your gear, sorry. Good luck man.
I appreciate it but theyres nothing left to help. the top cap for the nemesis is screwed up to where I wouldnt consider it safe. furthermore, the battery is considered not safe (personally I dont see a issue with it but I'm not a expert and frankly I like my jaw how it is right now), so it has already been disposed of.

All I need help with is finding a good suitable replacement. and personally I'd just prefer something that has a nice dark finish to it, tubular, non telescopic, takes a 18650, and is vv/vw

I know its a tall order but I hope to find something or find a way to get the desired finish on another option. Vamo would be perfect if it wasnt so dang tall
