Ethanol supposedly. I would think it's there because of its low surface tension and because many flavoring agents are not soluble with either PG or VG.

Yes jigtg. It also requires less by volume to thin VG with as compared to water. Also, it has a lower boiling point than water, so it does not affect vapor production as much.

Also, IMHO water seems to decrease "throat hit", while ethanol does not.

You want to use 190-195 proof alcohol. It's available in the US as either Golden Grain or Everclear. Some states, I believe limit the proof to 180 or so. That's fine. The idea is that you want a completely neutral spirit with as little residual sugars and water as possible.

Think of this 80 proof vodka is 60% water and residual sugars. Golden Grain is only 5% water and sugars.

8-oI've read all here. These are a few results I've come up with. vg definitely produces more vapor. If you soak analog cigs in water and strain them and reduce them, it tastes like a beer with a .... in it. Same with Copenhagen but worse. Alcohol does not give it a throat hit. The flavors are nice but HOW do you get the throat hit? (Im assuming a throat hit is the semi-painful feeling also felt with analogs) Only the stuff I bought online does and not all of it. Thank you all........arno8-o
