We are all looking for ways we can combat mis-information and Lies about E-cigarettes.

I suggest this thread be "bumped" every time we find any site with negative propaganda about E-cigarettes which is open for "viewer comments".

"They" post mis-information or Lies...We all will know about it and we then can immediately jump in with Overwhelming numbers.

They poke the ECF hornets nest...They will get Stung!

While I strongly support responding to all (or most) inaccurate claims about e-cigarettes (and I've done so myself hundreds of times), posting off-topic comments on this forum (e.g. S. 510, which would make food safer, and has nothing to with e-cigarettes) and urging folks to engage in off-topic advocacy on this forum only discourages e-cigarette consumers from correcting misinformation about e-cigarettes and from otherwise engaging in e-cigarette advocacy.

Two questions: Is S.510 really that far off topic, and would S.510 really "make food safer"? Our struggle to keep e-cigarettes legal and information truthful is really part of a much broader issue -- the erosion of personal freedoms as the government takes over more and more control of personal lives. We have witnessed what the FDA does with their regulatory power over so-called drugs. What makes a naturally occurring chemical a "drug" is, from the FDA's viewpoint, "It's a drug because we said so." We are running into that mindset in the litigation over e-cigarettes, and some of the provisions of S.510 stands to create the same sort of problem with nutritional supplements.

The FDA already has way too much power.

Elaine, I couldn't agree with you more. I view S.510 as a continuation of loss of freedom to an organization that has a very narrow and myopic view of safety. If the law ever gets passed, which may be questionable at this point, and if the FDA gets as chummy with Big Agra as they have with BP, I see no hope for most products not produced out of those powerful sectors.

The small farmer amendment wasn't even indexed to inflation so eventually most of the independent farmers would be forced into the controls established by the FDA that are competitively advantageous to BA, IMHO.

I hope none of those who oppose S. 510 get sick from food borne diseases, as many of those diseases are lethal.

The overwhelming majority of work done by the FDA is scientifically sound and protects/benefits public health.

Nobody is more upset with Josh Sharfstein's actions regarding e-cigarettes than me. But its irresponsible to oppose everything done by the FDA (and all other government) just because they screwed up on e-cigarettes.

I gather you supported the S.510 including turning over the regulations and enforcements to the FDA. That's fine. We all have our opinions.

I side with Jonathan Emord. The FDA needs to be eradicated and our entire government needs to be overhauled and re-focused on the Constitution.

I would trust NaturalNews.com over the FDA any day of the week: Click Here

If I'm wrong...It wouldn't be the first time.

Nice thing about an Internet discussion group is that we can disagree and still be friends.
