I'm sorry about your computer morri. If you lived closer to me, I'd build you one. I never buy pre-built computers. Don't like them, don't trust them, and I can certainly build one for way less and have better components. I hates them prebuilt computers, I hates them...
I am totally with you, Monkey monkey. I used to always build my own, but alas those days are gone. I have gotten old and the tech is way to new for me to keep up anymore. I wish you did live closer because I would totally trust you to build me a great one.

ok so I splurged and asked for a custom drip tip and found an artist on Etsy that had Alice themed drip tips as well...so 3 coming.....a custom, a peacock( I love peacocks) and a Caterpillar ...so now I am done for now with my drip tips

and I must stay away from EtsyMorri, It is so disconnecting to be without a computer when unable to leave the house much....mine died a slow horrible death a short time ago when there was no cash available to replace it and I was lucky enough to have a dear friend give me one I could debug otherwise it would be only phone internet for me for quite a while...I hope another computer finds its way to you soon

Dear Morri....so sorry to hear about the computer. If it's any consolation...I recently had to get a new comp. My son has a degree in computer science and he says the same thing as Monkey...stay away from the proprietary (named) systems. However, he showed me some things At the Tiger Direct site and it was REALLY easy to get the parts and build your own at a VERY reasonable price. It's not like it used to be.....today it's pretty much snap everything together and it's done. On the other hand, pre-built systems have come WAYYY down in price...AND....if you can hold out a few more weeks...Cyber Monday will be here soon and you'll be SURE to get a good price on a computer...maybe this is a blessing Dear Morri....sending the BEST of thoughts your way for a quick resolution

I played a game on Facebook for about 5 years before Zynga took it out....urgh....Vampire Wars. Our clan had players with multiple accounts, we all learned back doors and cheats, writing script, using debugging proxies, and ended up adding a lot of hardware to our computers, massive amounts of RAM, additional hardrives, accelerated graphics cards......it was a great education in DIY. If we were at war with a specific clan, I'd have my PC and 2 laptops going at the same time........it was a lot of fun beating the developers with their own glitches.
Tiger has tons of parts to make the computer YOU want at some really great prices. And Paleodian is right about the drastic drop in prices. The technology is already behind the minute it hits the retail stores.

I have been looking at this Tiger place guys and looks pretty good. I used to do lots of stuffies by the gamers book but since I don't game much anymore, don't really know where to start. wow, so much has changed. tigabytes. yikes and yikes. whew, I am soooo behind.
