Ez how are the caps soldered on the board I cant find info on where they go?
I see there is a cap between 1 and ground and 4 and ground ,are they connected to the board some how?

The leads from the caps are wrapped once around the pins from the board, and then soldered to the pins. The output cap is only attached to the board by it's positive lead. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here's a few pics to help clarify. :)

wow those caps are huge
Well they don't have to be. How about these whose paramters actually fit TI's recommendations.

Some of Tinear's work.

I have a 4050 boost converter all made up with caps and wired and was wondering if I could install a pot to make it variable voltage and where I would wire it to the battery positive wire or to the output wire positive I mean
That has been covered on these forums, seeing as you sell for profit spend some time and find the answers.

Helping folks build their mods is one thing, providing free research and circuit design for Registered Suppliers is another.

That makes no sense. If you want to sell mods learning a little basic theory would also be helpful. You have a certain obligation when selling folks things they have shoved in their mouths, basic understanding and the relationships of the various components may help avoid a potential disaster.

Yeah but you ought see him dance. Willy took the money I sent for the on-line sensitivity class and took singing and dancing lessons. Singing was a bust :).

All joking aside though, If you are going to sell stuff for other folks to put in their mouth and such on it you had better know how to make it safe. Maybe, like be an expert at it or something.

Those of you that haven't been around long will soon learn that WB will help you catch any design mistakes. I won't comment on where those mistakes will be crammed afterward.

:) :) :)
