As the title says, the only thing I am picking up is "sweet". Im using aerotanks with cotton wicked micro coils on either an mvp 2 or a mech.

Its almost like vapers tongue except instead of muted funky flavor im getting just sweetness.... not such a bad thing I guess, just kind of miss the way my juices should truly taste.

Wondering of this is due to my build or a stepping stone of tastebud recovery... any others experience this at all?

I've heard when you first quit smoking your taste buds go through a self repair phase and that causes your taste to change. I've had a similar experience but it was do to the fact that the store I got my juice from mixed it on site and several of the juiced used the same ingredients. Could just be what your vaping have similar stuff in them and your brain is lumping them together.

I've gone through times when things tasted funny or flat. Some advice that I saw on ECF really helped me with those times to get my taste buds reset. Three of them really helped me.

1) Sniff (not up your nose :D) used coffee grounds

2) Eat a dill pickle spear

3) Eat 4 or 5 olives (I like the ones stuffed with feta cheese for this :)

My wife also found that sucking on sour candy helped.

Hope this helps

Licking a door knob works well too. (Not really, I just think it would be funny to see someone doing that) dang I'm in a goofy mood tonight.

On a serious note, have you tried a different kind of flavor? If you vape sweet flavors normally, try something minty for example. Sometimes that works.

Agreed, when I'm vaping coffee flavored stuff (which I do a lot of the time) I'll switch gears and do something sour or fruit. If you stay on the same end of the flavor spectrum everything is gonna start tasting the same.

I'm not sure that this is exactly what you're describing, but I've had the following probelm with cotton wicks in PTs. If I roll my cotton too tightly, as a result of getting them to fit in micro-coils, I find that it can't wick properly - namely, it appears not to be able to saturate fully, and I experience a very saccharine taste. My guess was always that because the wick is overly twisted, the surface area of the wick wasn't porous, but rigid - and the juice is getting vapourised only at a very "surface" level of flavour.

Just a thought, hope it helps.

This is along the lines of what I was thinking, except it seems like it is borderline flooded until the flavor cuts in, then it is just sugary. Im almost certain it has something to do with wicking just not sure if it is too tight, loose, or maybe something to do with the flavor wick.

Well, that sounds like my former problem to a tee. My thought was, because the cotton was twisted so tightly, the wick wasn't getting properly saturated, and thus was not stopping the flow of juice into the coil chamber - and thus, borderline flooding. And then, yes, the saccharine taste.

What helped me was using less cotton, and instead of twisting, or rolling it tightly between the fingers, use the fingers to compress the wick - just lightly, until it gets into the proper shape.

Hope this helps

My ADV juice (same juice for over 1 month) can taste salty, sweet, sour, or plain. What I learned over the time is that how you coil matters more on taste than how you tweak your VV.

With my protank-ii: super nano gives me sour, nano gives me salty, 1.5mm assembled coil gives me sweetness, and 2 mm assembled has no vapor...Amount of wicks and resistance matter even more.

GL, Don't look at it as W-T-Hell; instead, look at it as a chance to learn all about wickings before moving to RBA and RDA
