Is ejuice meant to taste like it smells?

Im vaping caramel candy from mbv with 20/80pgvg 2 flavor shots. The smell is amazing but the taste seems kind of muted, it doesnt really taste like im eating caramel, but the smell is exactly like caramel. What exactly am I doing wrong, this was with my green apple flavor and moo juice aswell, all tho those I could barely taste even less than this.

It sounds like your juices taste the same as they smell, but are not all that strong tasting when you vape them. Yes, for the most part I consider that normal.

The juice, your hardware, the atty, wick material and power level will have a lot to do with this. Also if you vape a lot of the same juice for a while it will loose flavor. Kinda tires out your taste buds and scent receptors. Dirty coils will loose flavor too and that can happen fast with some juices.

Give us some more details and it will help us troubleshoot it with you.

as much as I hate to say it, I had a lot of hit and misses with mbv....while it smelt great half of the time the flavor was lacking.....which is a shame because they are a good company.....
usually yes the juice tastes like it smells...sometimes it doesn't....

how long have you had the juice? try shaking it vigorously before use.
Is your wick and coils clean and not gunked up as this will cause issues too.
are your sinus' giving problems (smell, or lack there of can cause taste issues)

if it's a new bottle, maybe let it sit and steep a bit....
but from my experience I'd have to say yep...hit and miss with mbv

20/80 is awfully thin on the PG. A 50/50 might do you better. You mentioned BVC - are you using a Nautilus mini? If so, try the different holes for awhile. I notice for me, the smaller holes give me more flavor. Harder draw and less plume, but more flavor.

Are you using a variable wattage/variable voltage unit? If so, mess with the wattage to see if it improves the flavor. I run my Nautilus mini between 8-9.5 watts.

I'm also picky on my flavor. :)

Well I mean these are brand new bvc coils although ai must say it tasted burnt for like the first hour and later on little hints of it with all the coils, I think the coils are not getting wet with ejuice I think. Not sure tho

You need to get a handle on this issue first before you think about the juice. I don't use bvc coils, but I am sure if your vape from them tastes a bit burnt for the first bit there's a problem you need to figure out. If you are using a variable voltage or variable wattage battery try turning it down a bit until the burnt hits stop. Hopefully someone who knows this device better will pop in shortly with their advice :)

Sounds to me like you need to turn you voltage down. Is your mod vv? If not, you need higher resistance coils. Just noticed the high VG......have you tried taking some primer hits before firing your mod. Might be to thick to wick properly.

You might want to try and take a slower hit. Are you lung-hitting, or mouth-to-lung? I get far better flavor with a little slower, more relaxed mouth to lung hit. If your coils taste burnt (and this is assuming you let them wick up long enough - some can take 10 minutes I've found, before it's ready on a fresh coil) you may just be hitting it too hard.

+1 on the "primer puffs" (hitting it with no power).

Once you burn a wick, it takes forever to get that nasty taste out of it. Always give your new coils (especially hidden-wick ones like the BVC) plenty of time to wick, then hit it gingerly for a bit. Then, puff away. ;)

I have 20/80 juice that smells bomb diggity, but does lack flavor a little bit. I realize this is due to high VG content with no extra flavor shots. I actually enjoy tasting the subtle natural sweetness of the VG on this particular juice..Magnum by Opus Elixir..A smooth, creamy vanilla custard. My opinion is that if you are going to vape high VG juices, get an extra flavor shot or two, or three, or just get used to less added flavoring and more to the taste of vg.

Did you prime the coils first? You probably already know this but in case you didn't... If BVC coils are like the BDC coils, there is a little plastic piece with a hole in it over where the coils are. You need to drip a couple drops of your eliquid in there (you can just tap the coil or lightly blow on it to make sure the juice gets in). Then put it in the atty and fill the tank. Let it sit for a few minutes and you shouldn't have a burnt flavor issue on new coils.
