Actually, I think you will find they have been in use much longer than that. Scubabatdan was posting about them quite a number of years ago.
My problem is picking up a portable hole to re-use. I tried getting my finger under the edge, but that just cut off the end of my finger

i jump in here, coming from page 90 of this incredibly amazing thread.
quite new to vaping and this forum, i discovered (coming from the reo-side) this thread 2 days ago and never stopped reading since (ok, the dog sometimes wants his time). it reads like an epic and exciting story about inventive talent, endurance and friendship and i laughed so much at the same time...
so before i continue reading at page 91, i wanted to post something in the future... here. (it will be hard to arrive here because there already opened up another thread, not to mention the threads in the german forum. more and more to read)
funniest thing is: i already preordered a finished genisis-atty, yeeehaa, vaping sometimes can be very exciting...

Ah Felix, this thread does read like a good crime novel - you just can't put it down. Raidy changed the way we think about mods completely and almost all current ideas has some form of his ingenuity built into it. Good luck!

Glad to hear you are enjoying it too, and being as you are from the Schweiz, you'll have to give the original German thread and sub-threads (here also) a read too. Should give you a brighter outlook on the future and keep you busy for awhile.

now believe me, this is freakin me completly out.
so far (-page 101), this thread was one of my best reading experiences in the last years! a reality crime story and so entertaining by intelligent dialogs. a story with everything in it, success and failure, so far no intrigues or love affairs, a story embedded just in the innocent but fearless love for vaping.
and now, i start to encounter the actors and heros of this story.
ok. so far, in our times of video games, virtual reality and internet, things like this can happen. easy.
but back to page 101, the past, where my story rules right now, the genisis atty is not yet fully devlopped! but i in the here and yet have already ordered one in a shop! (question in between: was delrin unknown to the vaping community back in 2010? dc carto tanks unavailable then? sorry to ask so stupid, but i only vape since 2 months, proud enough though that i found the genisis project)
i ordered something that does and does not exist at the same time. now isn't that "back to the future VII"? can this time-laps-coincidence between the here and the past cause any universal damage?
or should someone call a doctor? damn! have to go back to the past again...

Felix, you would be amazed how many of the now commercially available products found their origin in this forum.

as i was a sci-fi enthusiast in my youth (asimov, clark, heinlein, lem....) it is easy for me to imagine a world, where tobacco plant does not exist, so smoking has never been invented. the time has come now to invent it - better then it ever was...

I've order the wire and looking for a good place to get the mesh. I looked on the web and coincidentally there's a place in my city that may carry it. (Grainger) If not then they can order it since it's on there site.
I would love to learn more about the electronics aspect of some of raidy's mods. I'm fortunate though that I have access to all the machining equipment. I'm definitely going to be making my own mod after reading this thread.
