No lathe is needed to make a perfectly functioning atty.

Are you talking about a Genesis - LV? I mean a threaded version like the one ichbines posted. Make one and let us see.:)

I know, you could use a drill press and a bottoming bit, but it would be tough for the intermediate piece and the finish would probably look like crap. Besides I would want to use stainless.

You will notice that WillyB said "No lathe is needed to make a perfectly functioning atty"

He didn't say a "Good looking" one. You must have one, that's it, you must, you must,,,, Now there's your excuse, Go get it.
You know you want one. (can I borrow it)

You are sooo right, Gummy! I have a couple of brands in mind that look good. Maybe after the New Year...

But at an average weight of around 450- 550 lbs for a midi size lathe, you're gonna hafta come and pick it up, if you want to use it!:)

@DSY5

I want one (mini-lathe) so bad I can taste it (so to speak). I have been able to use one at the end of my street. I was made in something like 1905,, It has a 2" wide leather drive belt and is soooo worn out. but if you don't push it it works. I did manage to make a new tank with it over the past 2 days. I'll post a pic, but it's not a Genesis it's for the C-E2.

New vidéo with the same config. It's enormous :p
100% PG No VG :2cool:

How do you get the conductivity in the stainless mesh, when the liquid tends to make it non conductive, as when it tempered for the coil mod? Also, how long a piece would be required to get at leat 1.5 ohms out of it? 5 amps is way to much to use in a battery mod and I'd hate to have lug that power supply with me!

For my ato with no heat wire : Ultra Low resistance Atomizer (0,3 - 0,5) : ULRA :2cool::2cool:
I open a new thread :
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/141443-new-ato-like-genesis-but-no-heat-wire.html

The principe :

Mesh 400 - Width 14mm
proto2-2-23022f3.jpg

The power is between the electode and the mesh, not on the mesh, it's amazing.
Hard test vidéo with 27W !! :

THE MOST IMPORTANT IT'S THE DIAMETER AND LENGTH OF THE TUBE (2,4mm- 10mm)

The resistance seem to be stable (After 1h, no change @10W), the mesh is in stainless steel, the interior tube are gold plated.
I failed to have 1,5 .
It's a Ultra Low resistance Atomizer : ULRA (0,3-0,5 Ohm)

Hallo,

Karen
PS: Deutsch schreiben faellt mir nach so vielen Jahren in der USA ein bischen schwer, also mache Dir ueber Dein English keine Gedanken!

Die Bayern spreche doch nicht deutsch, die haben ihre eigene sprache...lol

Dont feel bad I been here for over fifty years and finished Volkschule before I came here, and my deutsch is getting terrible.

Dang...I'm finaly at the end of this unbelievable long tread, its after 4am now and its one of the best treads I've read sofar.

I just started this ecig thing a few weeks ago, burned an atty the first day, had two auto batteries went bad (too much juice), so....I took the stuff apart to see what was in there. When I saw the element was soldered I said "holy $%it", I dont wanna inhale solder fumes, I have soldered many things and know how bad solder fumes are. So three days ago I googled...

Stainless Steel Mesh
Nicrome Wire
Ceramic Filters

And now I've read this tread.....must be something about germans wanting to always improve stuff, were on the same wavelenght..lol

I've only done this a few weeks, and I'm already moding my stuff. I'm so tired, need to get some zzzzz.
