Sorry >.< wrong place to put this. Didn't know there was a health section

So I started vaping like a month ago, and apparently my skin started to react. I just thought it was something totally random and didn't really make the connection, but again it is just a possibility and i'm not entirely sure what's going on. The skin right under my eyes on my cheeks started getting extremely dry, and i'm used to having oily skin and then it got slightly normal as i got older, then the skin on my nose and forehead has gotten dry and it only worsen. So what I thought it could be is what i'm vaping. I usually vape a 70/30 pg/vg or 80/20 pg/vg mix.

Any ideas? because i'm completely at a lost

Are you drinking plenty of clear liquids? Meaning no cream no caffeine you could just need more hydration.

There are quite a few possibilities- some are easier to check than others. If you're really concerned about the changes (rather than just curious) it's worth checking with a doc or dermatologist. Here are a few possibilities, and you may have seen some other in the health section:

You could be dehydrated. You may need to increase your fluid intake.

A small percentage of people do react to PG, or to VG. You can try each by itself to see if anything changes.

It could be totally unrelated to vaping- since you mentioned that your skin has become less oily with time....or it could be that your skin is reacting to not smoking.

Good luck and welcome to ECF

I have tried drinking more water, tho it seems like it hasn't helped whatsoever.

I also thought that it could be my skin reacting to not smoking but i wasn't sure what exactly it could be reacting to since i'm stilling getting the nicotine.

I'm probably going to switch over to a juice with a higher vg than pg and see how it goes =\

Have to wonder about 4000 other chemicals besides nicotine your not getting now that you stopped analogues. But as recommended check with a dermatologist and see if it's something else. There are reported cases of being allergic to PG & VG, slim but still a possibility. best to see what you can find out from someone who deals with these problems and can look at all the issues associated with your problem.

I had the same problem when I switched to vaping over a year ago. I'm not sure what caused it but it went away after a few weeks. I thought it was PG at the time but I still vape the same kind of liquid (70PG/30VG) and I don't get that reaction anymore. I make sure to drink water throughout the day so that may be it but it could have also been a side effect from quitting the analogs.

Yeah, I had this problem too until I started drinking lots of water and things with little to no caffeine in them. And drinking the liquids helped me a lot! I used to have dry, flaky skin on my hands (reaction from malaria tablets from about a year ago) and they're getting so much better so quickly now I've started upping my fluid intake.

And do keep your fluid intake up, you do NOT want a "vaping hangover". I had one and felt like carp for a day. Way worse than any alcohol hangover I've ever had!
