Good for you.

Every one is different but for me, once I tossed those old ones i was determined not to buy another pack. There were times i just about vaped my head off but the worst was over an done with in a few days. The wonderful thing was that the worst was not as bad as it had been before.

I hope it's going much smoother this time around for you.

Things are great! I don't even want a cigarette...It's almost too good to be true!

My DIY order came from Happy Vaper today...I have to say I'm very impressed with the shipping on this...I ordered Monday, and received today. I probably won't do any mixing until next week, as we are trying to get ready to go out of town for a few days. We're going fishing(recreational cod fishery)...my favourite thing to do!

It's been nine days analog free, and I'm doing well. There have been times when I wanted a cig, but it's been more of a want than a need. It's easy to resist buying cigs when you don't actually need it to feel normal.

Good for you Sharon. Glad that it's working out for you. I'll watch for your 1 month, 6 month and 1 year updates. ;)

No pressure!!

Yellow Napes are particularly intimidating because they have a rep for being one of the "hot three" of the Amazons. Fred would be a scary bird, if he didn't know the "rules"....one of which is that he can't bite me. He can say "no" when he wants to, by nipping gently, but no biting. Birds are perfectly capable of learning rules...you just have to be firm and consistent, and show no fear. I was afraid of Fred at first, after being bitten and bruised a few times. I learned how to earn his trust, and then just show him that I'm the "top bird" in this house...I enjoy him a lot, and he can carry on a conversation better than some people I know! LOL!

Macaws are beautiful birds and more cuddly than Amazons...but if either is not supervised, they can do some serious damage to your house and furniture.

my parents have 3 birds, A Macaw, an Amazon, and an African Grey. They're crazy little buggers the lot of them (well the Macaw's not so little).

The Macaw is very affectionate, and an absolute riot. Very playfull, tells jokes, then laughs at his own punch lines.

The African Grey is a chicken sh**, but once she warms up to you, she has about a 100 or so word vocabulary. She also chases the Amazon around the house.

The Amazon is probably the hardest to handle out of the bunch. He is stick trained, but will snap at you if you're not careful. unlike the other two he doesn't give any warning. Thankfully no fingers lost, but blood has been drawn. I think he's still upset that he's not the head of the flock anymore. He used to rule the roost over a cockatiel and pionis 2-3 years ago. He's also going through puberty right now so his hormones are a little out of whack.

They sound just like the 3 Stooges. Are they called Curly, Larry and Moe?! :)

LOL.. no, I should talk to my parents though and see if they'll rename them.

Nothing funnier than having a dinner party at thier house.. everyone around the diningroom table, having a serious conversation. Then the birds in the other room start laughing at eachother.

Here's a conversation I caught about a year ago between the Grey and Amazon..

Grey: "mumble mumble..." wispering something to the Amazon.
Amazon: " mumble mumble..." a little louder, still incoherant.
Grey Laughs
Amazon "mumble mumble.." whispering again.
Grey Laughs.
Amazon does an alarm call
Grey yells: "Shut up you bad bird!"
Amazon Yells: "WHY I OUGHTA!!"
Silence......

I just about fell out of my chair sitting at the computer in the next room.

That is so funny...those three must be a riot to live with!!!

The other day, my husband was in the downstairs shower. After finishing, he realized he had forgotten to take clean clothes with him. He called ...."I forgot my clothes...". Fred yelled back, in my voice ..."WHAT?" Again, Ken yells, louder this time, "I forgot my clothes!" Fred yells back, louder as well, "WHAT?" Again, a third time. Finally, Ken comes out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel. I'm standing there laughing. Fred mimics my voice perfectly, and it's so funny when Ken thinks he's talking to me, and it's actually Fred!!!

The worst bite I got was from a lovebird. it was a friend's bird though I had known chico for a long time. I had moved away for about 3 yrs and hadn't seen chico in that time. stupid me assumes he'll remember me and be the cuddly little guy I remember. his cage was just inside the front door and as I entered I walked up to the cage "Hey Chico, come give me a kiss" and put my face up to the cage. he gave me a kiss allright. it looked kinda like a dog playing tug of war with a rope. my lip was stretched inside the cage and he was gnawing. it actually punctured through my lip and I am screaming of course. my bud comes around the corner and falls to the ground laughing. lots of help there. I finally found the cage door and as my hand was going inside chico flies to the top out of reach.
