Hey guys, when you turn your eVic on, when it shows the "Recommended Power" at the start-up screens, does it always recommend 5.2 watts?? Mine has always shown 5.2 watts for the "Recommended Power" screen when I power it on, no matter what kind of device I have attached or what resistance (Ωs) the device is..

... And if all of yours' also always "recommends' 5.2watts of power, why would they even bother showing us this when we Power-Up our eVic? Seems like it would be better shown on the 1st page of the instruction manual, since the # is always the same no matter what resistance you're working with.

Not a big deal to me, just something I've been wondering.. Thanx in advance guys!! :p

For me it's 2.5ohms @ 4W ;)

Think you meant to say @ 4volts.. Maybe around 6.6watts? That's actually where I usually keep my eVic around, 6.6watts (usually with a Protank, usually 2.5ohm).. Sometimes I even go lower like 5.8w, and sometimes up to 7, but I seem to get a burnt taste if I go much over 7w, usually

Yes, don't know why but 7w seems to be the magic number for Kanger.
I recoiled a T3-mini to 1.5ohms - Still 7w tops, but OMG it puts out much better.

I'm thinking the factory 3-3 gap coil isn't as efficient. Might try realigning one to see if there is a difference.

Just built my 1st microcoil for my Protank today and I finally got my PT to vape good above 7watts!! I was vaping at 8.5watts and even cranked it up to 9.5w without a burnt taste!! Only problem was, the resistance of the microcoil kept fluctuating on my eVic, a problem I've seen before. It was 2.4ohms at first, than it would go all over the place when I checked - 4.5 ohm, 5ohm, 2.8, 0.8!! And than when powering on my evIC, the screen froze on the "Rec Power" screen and I had to take the battery out and re-boot

I've been vaping the protank at 8w. Am I overpowering it or is it purely personal preference?

8 watts is my sweet spot on the eVic, with both Boge LR cartos and Protanks. A tenth or two higher gets me into the burned taste though.. This is with 50/50 juice, where it's good to allow a minute between vapes to allow the wick to rewet itself inside the coil.
