got an evic vape mailed, and I wonder, is anyone else having "glitch" issues. sometimes the batt just drains, power off, sleep, doesn't seem to matter. sometimes it won't turn on even connected to pc through the usb. also, the actual voltage seems to be lower from what the screen is saying, compared to comparable setting on other variable volts spinner or twist. sometimes it vapes great, turn it off, come back to the same setup, use the same settings, and it's weak. "recommends" the same wattage regardless of resistance of coil ohm? and the twist knob/dial sticking? Sorry, probably been asked and answered, but this "manual" isn't exactly extensive or informative. sound like a bad unit, or is this typical? as always, thanks in advance.

Seems like the battery will drain a bit overnight in sleep mode, at least for me. More concerning is it appears mine has decided to randomly shutoff today. Take it out of sleep mode, take a vape, take another one like under a minute later and it shuts down. Have to do the 5 clicks and wake it back up.

Gonna goof with it, see if it is just user error/setting. If not.... well it lasted a month :p

probably just me and an operator error. it's kinda weird, random stuff on this one. makes trouble shooting variables a little tough. sometimes it does it, sometimes not. at least this one was free, I feel bad even asking to return it. lol. it's the version 1.2 firmware, and it's brand new, not a recall unit, so...if I can get it to work fairly consistently, I'll gift it to my dad, but first, I have to be able to walk him through the menu via the phone.

I've found that if you put down the Evic on a hard surface you can shut it off, the battery bounces on the spring causing a momentary lack of contact which shuts the unit off.

Try stretching the spring so there's less play in the amount the battery moves.

The recommended wattage is always 5.2 - this is an error that Joyetech need to sort out - 1.2 is a beta firmware so there are still issues.

This is not an error. It is a Fixed Recommendation and in accordance with the Safe Vaping Guide, within safe zone at all resistances. It is not a calculated number by the software. That is all done in the next boot up steps during initialization.

If you charge in the eVic let the battery get down to 20% or so before charging. Fully charge before removing.
Batteries should be cycled properly for decent life expectancy.

Have not had any drain problems in either of mine while in sleep mode. I rarely turn them off. A weak battery may show more drop when trickle feeding a device.

When powering up or coming out of sleep mode allow the unit to fully initialize before attempting a Vape.

Weak Vape is often from the device on top getting over saturated while not in use. A few long slow draws heats off the excess fluid and gets things back to normal. This is rarely the an issue with the Battery supply unless it will not clear up without switching to a different Power system.

Shut down when sat down abruptly. The eVic tube is a bit long and can accommodate larger Mah batteries. Spring stretch can help or installing the new 3400mah battery will work.
Button top batteries are also less susceptible to shutting down when bumped due to longer design.

Thanks, will check spring. Usually happens when I am just holding it, but still worth a shot.

Actually gonna look to sell it soon, but I want to make sure this shutoff problem is fixed or not an indication of dying before I do that.

The spring thing worked for me. Even if you are holding it but maybe swing it with the bottom at the lower side of the arc, you can have this with a compressed spring. Doesn't take a really big stretch either, just enough to add another pound or two of force. The spring is pretty beefy, once I did this, it works very well and stays on like it should.

My evic drains battery 8-10% when shut off over night. This is the second one I have had that does this. I sent the first one back and the replacement has the same issue. If the unit fully drains the battery it also will change the date and who knows what else so I must update it every time to get things back to correct settings. I travel and dont take this one with me so it goes dead every week. I am going to remove the battery this week when I leave and see if at least it will keep settings. Not very impressed with this thing so far.

As a follow up, a bit of a spring stretch seems to have fixed it up. Used it for a couple of days after and no issues. Also played with the sleep and power modes a bit and not seeing the power drain anymore. Still going to see about selling as I have too many other things right now, but thanks for the tip on the spring stretch!
