Those 3 numbers are the resistancecof the coil in the clearomizer. Based on Ohm's law, you can use that resistance and the voltage of your battery to find out what wattage you are running your coil at, and generally speaking, the higher the wattage, the hotter the coil.

Hotter coils rvaporate juice faster, giving more vapor, and the vapor that comes out is warmer as well, which in turn gives you more throat hit. The drawback is that too hot a coil can burn your wicks if they are not kept constantly wet with juice.

Higher ohms will give you a cooler [and more likely, weaker] vape without variable voltage. If you have a standard eGo battery, that's roughly around 3.3 - 3.7V, depending on its charge and who you ask.. Wattage is calculated by the resistance and the amount of volts.

In short, get the lower resistance (ohms) for a better vape on your eGo.

So if I use the higher rated one, I will get a hotter coil then or is it vice-versa. Am not too good with math, lol

Higher ohms (resistance) are for batteries that run at (or can be adjusted to) higher voltage. With a standard eGo it has a constant voltage, so you will get more watts (power) at a lower resistance which is what you are aiming for. Here is a chart with a rough idea of resistance and what voltage you need to run it at:

ETA: With my standard eGos I usually get 1.7 to 2.0 ohms devices.

Thanks, I knew I could count on this forum to give me the info I need. Am still trying to figure all this stuff out but with everyone's help it is sure making it easier.

You would have more options if you got a VV like an eGo Twist or Vision Spinner. ;)

You prolly have a SmokTek 1300mAh eGo battery which fires @ 3.7 volts.
JoyTech eGo fires @ 3.3 volts.
If you enjoy a warm vape then 1.8- 2.0 ohms. If you like a cooler vape then 2.0- 2.4 ohms.
Many misread the fact that eGo is not a brand name but rather a class of PV made by diff manufacturers.

True, but the OP said his choices were 2.1-2.4 and 2.5-2.9 clearomizers. Not the best for even 3.7v.

True but if given the choice with cartos or another delivery product that OP might purchase in the future. I've found 1.7 SmokTech XL SC cartos are great in a 3.7 volt PV but I enjoy a warm vape. I'm finding the problem with these clearos and tanks/ Vivi, etc they are not very accurate ohms- wise. Your suggestion for a Twist or Spinner makes sense given the ohms inaccuracy of these products lately.

I use those or 2.0 in my Pro Thingy (in fact I'm using a 1.7 sc Smoktech right now). I keep trying to experiment with higher resistances (as they come back in stock), but 1.7/2.0 still seems to be my favorite.

Same here. Either 1.8 Vivi or 1.7 ST SC carto. I thought I was one of the only ones that enjoyed a warm vape.
