So I'm guessing you're in your late 50's?

Way back when you were 20-something?

You might be. :)

VG metabolizes into lactic acid, which is the same thing your body produces in your muscles when you exercise. Some people get muscle soreness (as if they have been over-exerting themselves), and it might have something to do with your fatigue. You might try a lower VG or No-VG liquid. No-VG is all PG, which is also harsher-tasting and produces a bigger TH.

Also, you may be able to lower your nicotine intake and increase your satisfaction at the same time if you learn how to "direct inhale". At first, it's really awful, and you never want to do it again. If you persevere by practicing a few times per day, over the course of a week or so, you'll figure out how to do it. When you get it right, you will be exhaling huge plumes of vapor like the guys on the videos (yep, that's how they do it). It seems superficial, but the ability to semi-consistently produce big vapor is a dramatic help, psychologically. It also produces a much bigger throat hit. You will finally be able to put your PV down for a couple of minutes, and not be jones-ing for a cigarette all the time.

Here's how you can learn to do it:

Draw on your PV like you normally do, by filling your mouth with vapor. When you get to the point where you would normally stop vaping and inhale, instead do this: Continue pressing the button (if you have an auto ignore that part), continue sealing the cart with your lips, and slowly inhale directly into your lungs. It won't be long and you will feel a pinch, like you're about to cough. That's when you stop vaping and inhale.

Don't worry if it makes you cough, because it doesn't thrash your lungs like coughing smoke would.

With a little practice, you will be able to tell how much you can stand without coughing. You will also gradually be able to inhale more vapor, comfortably. You'll be fogging up the house in no time.

Careful with this at High Voltage, the vape is harsher and the atomizers can only take so much...

You nailed it - yep - I was 55 in November - I was around 25-26 when I quit that time for 30 days. Sounds like a plan direct inhaling - I'll try that within the next 5 minutes -- I think I may have already and it tasted really raspy - not sure if that describes it - sort of nasty tasting - but if that's the way to a better throat hit - I'll surely do it. Thanks for the tips - I'll post back here and let you know how that worked.

The one thing I can say - whenever I see a young kid with a cigarette in his mouth - I feel like slapping him to sleep - but how can I - we all did it for the same stupid reasons. Back then though, I can honestly say it wasn't socially unacceptable as it is now. Remember all the cig commercials back in those days - every movie on tv and the big screen - they all smoked - it just wasn't a big deal back then - Heck - I remember when I was 17 and went in the military - My Dad ( rest his soul ) bought me a carton of Marlboro Reds for boot camp - even though - my drill sgt threw them out before I got off the darn bus. 8-o Times have surely changed.

Thanks for the tips - really !!!!

If I have got the right Snus - then I'll give that another try - or if it's not - I'll go ahead and try and buy some of the Swedish Mfr type

Definitely go ahead and try them again. Some people here like the Camel Frost Snus and find them satisfying. Others find them unsatisfactory but find that Swedish snus work for them.

A good place to cruise on this forum regarding snus is Smokeless tobacco - E-Cigarette Forum

Yes, most definitely proimage1. Come on down to the Smokeless section and start a thread with any and all questions concerning the use of smokeless tobacco and the benefits for those of us who have lost the zeal for life since switching to PV's. You appear to be experiencing some signs of depression since giving up analogs. Fear not, your future can be brighter than before along with a greater sense of satisfaction from your PV. We have the answers you're looking for :).

wow that direct inhale stuff is great!!!! Never tried it before but I'm hooked. Proimage1, I tried the Camel snus and almost blew lunch. I was assured by others that the Swedish is the way to go. In the smokeless section, there's a post that has a link for a free sample of 4 different kinds of General Snus. I signed up for that and it's free. Hoping it'll actually be sent to me...we'll see. There's tons of great people here and a lot of support so keep up the good work and keep positive. We all struggle in our own ways, I know I do.

Thanks Bud - I'm heading there now. Yes, I have had some slight depression - I guess it goes with the territory. I've actually been going to the VA hospital and the Doc there had given me something for that. That part of it didn't have anything to do with not smoking - that started even before I tried to quit.

I'll check out the smokeless forum !:)

Yep, I plan on ordering the free sample this weekend and give that a try. At this point I'm willing to give anything a shot ( well, almost anything ).
I'm trying the direct inhale method to. Feels like the first time I ever tried to inhale. You know - that crap taste. I wonder why in the hell we continued to try and smoke and inhale all those years ago when this is what it felt like. I guess the silly teenagers we were - that slight buzz and dizziness was worth the crap taste in the throat.

Just double checked the can - it is called SNUS -- it's Camel brand mfr'd by RJR -- not sure if that's bad or good - the flavor is called Frost - from what I read, it is a pouch and you don't spit it out. So, is this what I should try ? I'll also take your advice on the times and places to use the PV.

Thanks again for all the encouragement ! REALLY !

OK that is snus but kinda bad snus, way to sweet for me. If you like the taste of tob the two I would recommend are ETTAN original and lab 01. I get mine at www.getsnus.com You spit it out after it has no flavor left.

It seems a bit pricey - unless I'm reading it wrong, but maybe I'm thinking the can won't last that long.

I was wrong on the price of Snus - it's price is pretty darn cheap compared to everything else I've seen for what you get. I'm gonna order some this weekend and give it a try - thanks for the link by the way !

I was a two pack a day smoker and I go through about 4-6 portions a day which cost about 15 cents a piece. I was lucky and took to snus like a duck to water and actually love the taste. Anyways snus is way cheaper than ecig and to me much more satisfying.

Well the thunder frosted and ori may take some getting use to strong stuff (I love it though). General is good tob flav but med in str, and the lab 01 will be mild.

Guess I did ok then - I pretty much ordered sort of what you guys suggested. I'm good with STRONG - in fact the stronger the better as far as I'm concerned right now. I've never had a problem with anything strong. A year or so ago, my doctor at the VA was on me in a big kinda way about quitting the cigs - he told me to go buy the biggest and nastiest cigar I could find and when I did have to smoke - to smoke on it when I couldn't stand it anymore - the problem I had with that is - I was inhaling it like a chimney and it didn't make me cough, gag, or anything - so I bailed on that pretty quick. Seemed like a good idea, but was a no go for me. Like I said, I'm good with strong. I guess it goes back years ago when I first starting smoking - I'd steal cigarettes from my parents - My Dad smoked Chesterfield non filters and my Mom smoked Pall Mall non filters, so I've always preferred the stronger nic -- guess that's why I'm having one heulluva time with the e-cigs by themselves. With all the e-cig stuff I've accumulated over the past month - you would think I was gonna open an e-commerce store - but in reality I've just been searching for the complete fix - ( which I guess we know that there is NO perfect fix ) I do hope the Snus along with the e-cigs does what I need it to. I'm very hopeful right now.

Thanks again for your help and direction - I'll shoot you a PM in a week or so with my results !!

Have a super weekend ! and haping vaping and snussing ( not sure if that's a word or not  )
