I ordered the 510 as well from rocky mountain vapor an got it 2 days ago (the shipping was super fast). It's been a weird transition to this thing - I was super excited and now I'm not so sure. I'm definitely not giving up but it feels so bizarre to carry it around. I do feel like I made a good choice, I think you will too DP.

Good choice dragon! you will be excited as you seem to have made the right choice, especially when you try it. The 510 is the best model out there, I use that and a mod (when not in public) almost exclusively. Just keep them 510 batts charged, and everything else should fall into place when it comes to becoming smoke free. I loved to smoke, now I love to vape, just look at the sig.I just bought the 510 with 24 mg juicetrying not to get my hopes up too much yet very excited at the same time
I read the owners manual for my PV, and it said, in broken english, that i must not allow my PV to contact any metal objects, such as coins in my pursehow serious of an issue is this? I haven't seen anything about this posted in other forums, and i'm afraid to put it in my purse. What kind of metal must it not contact? How much of a barrier must be between them?
I've never seen this kind of warning, its perplexing
The problem with metal objects is the external paint of the ecigs. Only a cosmetic problem. I have a couple of black 510 atomizers and batteries totally schartched for that reason.
Thank you tybees and vaping, i really needed the encouragement i get so nervous spending soooo much money on this stuff! I keep telling myself that its worth it if it helps me quit smoking.
I keep wondering if i made a mistake buying the 401. I knew that according to most people here there are better models, but i just kept thinking it must be a preference thing considering how much variety there is in vaping, and i went ahead and bought it anyway. Forty dollars
I don't regret buying the prefilled carts tho, i needed to see for myself why they were no good, and they did at least help me cut back. But i will surely be filling my own from now on.
Oh well, i suppose i had to try in order to learn. 510 it is

Here's a little about my experience so far:
I got to start using it last night after the bats were charged. I got the 24 mg juice and I gotta say, after about an hour of vaping I felt kinda stoned. Also, I did get the nasty burnt metal taste on and off throughout the night. Some hits were awesome and the very next one would be nasty. I could start to tell when the hit I was taking was going to be gross so I would gave it a few quick puffs without inhaling until it "felt" like it would taste better. Didn't always work though. I'm sure it's the atomizer issue that's been talked about, but tonight I've only had a few bad hits and I'm getting the hang of vaping.
Just not sure about having it in public. It feels sorta creepy lol.

I'm ordering some 48mg juice. I'm going to cut a small amount down to 36mg and see if it gives me a buzz. If it does, I'll scale it back to 24mg. I'm ordering some really good flavors, too. I can't wait to stink up the room to smell like a peanut butter cup just to see what the wife says.

I use 48mg to stiffen up my lower levels that don't cut it but I don't want them to go to waste. 50% MBL 16mg and 50% 48mg unflavored is really tasty for me, and keeps me from wasting my 16. TW will have 54mg after 9-1

If you get the 48mg and cut it 50/50 with VG or PG (or both), you now have double the amount of 24mg.
The FDA should have no problem banning these things when people who use them are afraid to be seen with them.
It was a pretty nice little buzz.....I'm just a bit scared of the supposed nicotine OD headaches. Hasn't happened yet but this is still pretty new.

I'm not sure why i reacted the way i did, but i need to be more open about this. I think its important for people to see me using this on campus and while out and about so they can be exposed to the idea of a smoking alternative. Maybe once i get used to it i'll lighten upI really gotta work on that

There's no problem there. Get the 48mg and mix it 50 / 50 with VG. 2 bottles of 24mg for the price of one.
dragonpuff - I think people who see you puffing on your e-cig on campus (people who also smoke, that is) will probalby ask you about it and then be thankful they've heard about it.

I told them "Tomorrow - payday - I'm buying an e-cig." Of course they asked what it was, I told them, and they were both very excited to check mine out when I have it. One of the two even said, "if you still like it after a week of use I'm going to buy one myself and try it out." And then we all joked about standing under the awning right outside the building - out of the rain (it was raining today) - and puffing away while we waited for the 'smoking police' (<-- as we like to call the two who stalk us to make sure we aren't near the buildings) just to see their faces when we told them that we weren't smoking.
