Am I the only one that has a problem with this?

If anything, they copied e-cigs not the other way around. Think of them as divergent technologies sharing a basic principle but thats where all similarities end.

As someone whos been here since 2009 as both a member and a vendor I can assure you that not a single innovation or leap in technology was borrowed from that "other" hobby. Most came about right here on this very forum and then were either manufactured and sold by industrious vendors or quickly copied by the Chinese and brought to the masses.

Maybe some of these rebranded egos and such. But herbal vaporizers have been around since long before 2009.

and not cause everyone to lose their right to a healthier alternative.

Most nonsensical nonsensical statement ever. How can one lose their right? If one can lose it, it is not right SHEESH. Oh, & BTW, if anyone thinks the court of public oppinnion will have any bearing on this matter they have not been paying attention.

As someone who has been paying VERY close attention for a few years now..
I would say the court of public opinion is the ONLY thing that is going to have any bearing on the final FDA regulations.

Uh, herb vaporizers existed LONG before E-cigs. You want to know why you see no innovation in the herb vape market? The delivery system is so perfect nothing needs to be changed. vaping a liquid presents many more challenges with the delivery system. Thus innovation NEEDING to happen w/ e-cigs.

Again, don't speak of what you don't know.

Even when its legal in all 50 states it will still have negative associations unless people become deaf blind and stupid all at the same time.

If you need proof of that look at drinking.Anything other than one or two in a social setting is frowned upon nowadays. All you have to do is look at the much stricter laws in regards to drunk in public and drinking and driving to see this.

I've seen way more open mindedness about it lately than old hat closed mindedness. Get with the freakign times. It's socially acceptable!!! Just read the post here; most all whom don't partake don't care if others do.

And comparing herbs to alcohol and public drunkenness? Herb doesn't make you belligerent. There you go with your misinformation again.

i agree with both sides to a certain extent but lets get real for a moment..

1 the two technologies do not cross
2 Vaping has been such a strong positive in my life I hate the idea of any connection it may be getting from idiots thinking that its drug related
3 i also have had my fair share of experience with the other and also find it harmless....but that does not change the fact that others dont share my liberal thoughts on that issue.
4 the definition of "Deference" is this " to limit my own personal freedoms in order to not offend the ones i am serving"....and i feel what makes this forum so awesome is the nature of serving each other with our knowledge and experiences and helping each other.

just my :2c:

Totally different mechanism for "vaporizing" so not a very good comparison.

 Again? More misinformation from you. I'm absolutely shocked! Not at all different; the wooden box old school, 20+ year old "vape Brothers" used a coil. They've since switched to something safer: Ceramic. Some have batteries (AA), some plug in to a wall.

You have a very skewed idea of a dry drunk. I have no problem with medical or even recreational use of drugs that have very low physical addictive properties. That's like saying I'm on a dry drunk because I accept that other people can safely drink when I can't and have no desire to do so. Prime example is I am an addict where as my father shows no sign of physical or psychological dependency yet uses a plant for pain relief against MS he has been battling since '89. He chooses this over the highly addictive opiates the doctors try and force down his throat. He is a very successful lawyer and maintains an addict free lifestyle. He has none of the "isms" I have. Just because I understand that some people like myself are predisposed to being psychologically addicted to anything (vaping included) doesn't mean I'm on a dry drunk. It means I understand the difference between being an addict and not being an addict. I have changed physically, emotionally, and spiritually over the past 10 years, far beyond where I was in '02. Believe what you want but there are people in this world that can use alcohol and not be addicted to it.

Good for your dad & yourself as well. I wish you well.
