I've found that there are some (if not many) ambiguous terms that can confuse the beginners. For example, the term "coil" often refers to an atomizer (including the wicks), while it can also refer to only the coil. Another term that I'm still confused about is "mod". What does it mean?

Please write about the ambiguous terms that are source of confusion.

In an RBA, a coil is just a coil. But people often use just "coil" when the mean "coil head" or "coil assembly" in an atomizer that isn't rebuildable.

A "mod" the power source. The thing that provides power to your atomizer. Back in the old days, people used to modify flashlights, or modify various containers like Altoids tins to hold batteries, and the term "mod" stuck for the thing that contains your batteries, which you connect your atomizer to.

A "juice attachment" is any device which has a heating coil which can vaporize e-liquid when powered by a battery or battery device.

One of the first words you'll read about is "atomizer". This word can be confusing to many novices, because it can have different meanings depending upon the context the word is used.
  • It can be a "catch-all" word meaning any and all juice attachments.
  • It can also be a synonym for the heating coil itself.
  • It can also refer to a more specific juice attachment, like a "510 drip atomizer" or a "rebuildable atomizer" (RBA).

"Mods", or APV's (advanced personal vaporizers), are battery devices used power juice attachments. They are available in two form factors: Tube or Box shaped. Both tube and box mods can be either regulated (containing an electronic microchip) or unregulated (basic box or tube mod with no electronics) mechanical.

The term "mod" originally came from modifying the common flashlight to become a battery holder to create a larger e-cigarette. This allowed vapers to use larger batteries and larger juice attachments. Now "mods" are created from scratch without using a flashlight. The term mod stuck and is still used to this day.

There is a larger variety of choices in this class of vaporizer than any other. They are the most popular class among experienced vapers. Everyone is different in what they are looking for in a vaping setup. The widest variety and potential options certainly are available in this class. There are single, double, triple, and even four battery models available. Wattages of up to 250 watts are available in four battery mods; even if you will never vape at those power levels, having 3 - 4 batteries allow you to vape up to 3 - 4 days before needing to change batteries.

Regulated mods also have built-in battery voltage/atomizer readers so that you can know the battery's voltage level and the resistance of the heating coil in the atomizer. Regulated mods have "protection circuitry", which protect against short circuits which could destroy the chip or battery, and protect against putting the battery in backwards (reverse polarity protection).

This is a tank. Is atomizer something inside the tank, or the whole thing is an "atomizer tank"?

Now is this an atomizer or a coil head? Why is it called coil "head"?

"unflavored", yeah because it was flavored and they un'd it
How 'bout "non-flavored". Thank you
I don't think so.
Unleaded gasoline never had tetraethyl lead added to it.
Decaffeinated has had the caffeine removed.

Top, replaceable atomizer head type tank. Tank for short. Usually referred to as a specific brand & model.
A few examples; aspire nautilus, vaperesso drizzle or nrg.

Bottom, replaceable atomizer head, Head for short.
Replaceable atomizer head or head = usually a threaded body with wicking holes, containing coil(s) & wicking material, a single replaceable unit ready to prime, thread or push into base & vape.
