E-CIGARETTES RED FLAGGED BY FDA

Agency has cautioned public about safety and marketing strategies
As the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pushes forward regulations to curtail the deadly effects of smoking, a new product is causing alarm for the agency.

The FDA has expressed concerns over the safety of the products as well as the marketing strategy it believes targets young people. There are no age restrictions on consumers of e-cigarettes, and the devices can be purchased in shopping malls or online in a variety of flavors such as strawberry and pineapple. Of ultimate concern is that the products may be a gateway to actual tobacco products.

OMG....IS THE FDA THAT STUPID? We should be EXTREMELY CONCERNED about teenagers getting REAL cigarettes because it still happens all the time. Let's not worry about how cigarettes are killing people.....because they are legal and probably the only reason this country has an FDA (because of our tax dollars). Another thing....to say you don't know how nicotine will effect a person....is BS....if they have such a problem with that they'd be after cigarettes. I swear...the more I hear the fda and the concerns they have (especially when they didn't even test to see what was in the cartridge...it might be Propylene glycol....hell it could be my mother for all he knows). K...I'm done venting for now...thanks for listening :)

The e-cig is not actually "new" like the FDA wants you to believe, but have been around for about 3 years. And the same tired old argument of them being the "gateway" to smoking real tobacco cigarettes for children is laughable at best. It's really the other way around. Real analogs are the gateway to e-cig use. Since when have they started smoking an e-cig in high school? I have yet to hear one confirmed case.

I have to agree with BigJim here.... Analogs are the gateway to ecigs... I think a teen would not want to put the work into a smoke that we do... dripping, refilling, dying attys, charging and recharging. plus any idiot that showed up at school with an e cig would instantly be labeled a p***y and have his @$$ kicked on a daily basis...
