This is a long (2 hours) video that aired on C-SPAN with an AEI panel discussing the regs. I'm not even half way through it, but great stuff. Extensive discussion on all the misinformation going around and they are doing a great job debunking all the myths.

For those not aware, AEI is a DC think tank with a focus on government, social welfare etc.

Thanks for sharing. I'm about 20-30 min in. Will catch the rest tomorrow. Very interesting. Nice to see other professions and professionals who aren't necessarily vapers or smokers get involved with bringing the truth out in the open.

This is really good stuff. This panel has done their homework. I'm curious to know who the members of the audience are. They are all feverishly taking notes. Who attends these things?

Curious about the audience also. They clap, so I guess pro-vape folks. Too bad not many in attendance.

There is a Q&A session at the end, so I'm going to have to replay it to figure out who some of those in attendance are.

AEI is pretty influential so hopefully this will make it's way to the right circles.

Listening to the Q&A, there were reporters, pro-health advocates, government reps (lobbyists?) and law firm representation. Pretty good mix.

Small crowd in attendance but at least receptive.

About 20 minutes in. This is a great discussion of the medical, scientific and psycological factors surrounding ecigarettes.

Dr. Sally Satel at about 20:50
"So, Why is harm reduction an acceptable approach to ...... but is not an acceptable approach to nicotine?"

Just finished watching this video. It's refreshing to see a calm and reasonable discussion about vapor products here in the US, similar to what we've seen recently in the UK. Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain that the usual suspects will cover the ears and eyes and chant "la la la la la la" if they're ever accidentally exposed to this video or similar discussions.

Excellent! I fear it will fall on deaf ears. However, Dicky Durbin's and Blumenthal's Bills (S450 and S1129 respectively) were introduced in February-March of 2015. Dicks version S450 has a zero % chance of passing and S1129 has a 1%. Per GOVTRAK.com. The proposed taxes are astronomical. The letter from Senator Murphy and Barbie Boxer was sent in March of 2015. The usual about the chillen' having access to ecigs. Blah, Blah, Blah. I should send her this video. I liked what Stacey Ehrlich said that the FDA could have taken a different route and used product standards as guidelines instead of these onerous PMTA's. I bet if more physicians were on board in favor of vaping like Dr. Satel maybe it wouldn't have gone this far. They wanted us to quit smoking- we quit smoking. BUT it wasn't THEIR way. UGH

Very informative and it gives me hope that there are people beyond vapers paying attention and being guided by actual science. It's funny how the dems only pay attention to science that suits their agenda i.e. Global warming. I love how the British guy says it's absurd. It is totally absurd.

It's funny, but everything they discussed wasn't particularly new thought. What they did do and did very well, is to put all of those thoughts into a nice, neat package that policy makers may be able to easily digest. I hope that his creates further investigation and discussion.

I finally had some times to sit down and start to listen to this AEI re-broadcast.

I can't tell you how Refreshing it was to listen to Prof. Shiffman's presentation. So much so that I just sent him a brief e-Mail expressing my Thanks.

Shiffman summed it up well with "Be skeptical"

I liked what he said in his Opening Remarks.

"Its the Smoke Stupid"

Something that should be Pounded into Every Contact that is made with Reps/Policy Makers/General Public.
