Last week Big Pharma funded ALA issued its State of tobacco Control report
Home - State of Tobacco Control 2014 | American Lung Association

ALA gave the Federal Government a D, including:
- D to the FDA for not proposing the “deeming” and other regs/bans for e-cigs and OTP and for not proposing a ban/regs on menthol cigarettes,
- D to Congress for not taxing e-cigs, smokeless and OTP at the same rate as far more hazardous cigarettes, and
- C for Cessation coverage for not mandating taxpayer and healthcare policy holder subsidization of all Big Pharma cessation drugs.
Overview - Federal Grades - State of Tobacco Control 2014 | American Lung Association
Highlights - State of Tobacco Control 2014 | American Lung Association

ALA accused tobacco companies of trying to undermine the TCA’s public health protections by promoting ‘harm reduction’, by lobbying for state laws to ban sales of e-cigs and OTP to minors, by opposing taxes on e-cigs, and by opposing e-cig usage bans; claimed e-cig companies are trying to "hook kids and keep smokers addicted".
Tobacco Industry - State of Tobacco Control 2014 | American Lung Association

ALA delineated mandated subsidization by each of the 50 states for many different Big Pharma smoking cessation drugs (demonstrating ALA's obsession with getting more Big Pharma funding to force taxpayers and healthcare insurance policy holders to unfairly subsidize the costs of Big Pharma cessation products).

The ALA, ACA, & all those groups need to held accountable for the 400,000 smokers per year who have died over the last 50 years of their reign. At least 20,000,000 lives could have saved if they had not lobbied against THR, had they not of lied and tossed people from their homes & jobs by default, had they not of forced smokers to stand in inclement weather & gotten sick because of the propaganda they spewed, the fear they created, the bans they suggested.
They have no business criticizing the work of others.

Though it's really not...it's comical reading the flat out misinformation being spread like it's gospel! It's my opinion that these organizations be not only held accountable, but to a much higher standard than a entertainment news program. Candy flavors????? How about something more substantial, possibly a fact or two for good measure. I just have to believe that if anyone, anywhere, could provide unfiltered evidence of anything but reduced harm, it'd be plastered over every outlet available. Such B.S.

What would ALA do if we all smoked e-cigs?

They would fall to the wayside like all the Polio research organizations and hospitals did. The fools actually beat polio and their cash falls came to an abrupt halt. ALA isn't foolish enough to repeat that mistake. To H_ll w/ lung health they've got cash cows to manage.

LOL. It gave Utah an A for smokefree air, when in fact last week we had the nation's largest anti-pollution rally to protest the nation's worst air quality. 5000 people showed up. We have massive problems with industrial pollution here.

Want irony? Top priority in the current legislative session will be focusing on controlling... e-cigs.

I know... I know... but it's what we do here.
