Travel and Vaping Amtrak Now Bans Vaping on Trains; Smoking to be Banned on Auto Train

Amtrak has banned the use of e-cigarettes onboard its trains. Also, effective June 1, 2013, analog smoking will no longer be permitted anywhere on the auto train. Currently, analog smoking is permitted in designated areas of the auto train.

When I rode Amtrak two years ago, smoking was not allowed at all on the train, they had certain stops the smokers could step out and smoke, but that was it.

Yes. Currently, the policy is that on their regular trains, smoking is 100% banned. The designated smoking areas are only on the auto trains.

Thanks for the info. The policy is understandable to me. Even though I'm a vaper myself, I don't like it very much to see smokes/vapors flying around me while I'm on a train.

I accept it. No, I TOLERATE it. But they have the constitutional right to ban smoking AND vaping on their trains, so I'm not going to complain.
