Hey Lapsus, since you are trying different ways to power you ecig. How about a charger for a phone or something else.
I have looked at some of mine and I have 2 that are rated at 3.7 volts. Might give you something else to pass some time with.

Well, I just ran some tests and the good news is, e-juice isn't conductive. That means just getting juice in there wouldn't have shorted stuff out, and there's a chance you could clean it and it'll be fine.
If you have IPA (rubbing alcohol) that's fairly fresh - an unopened bottle would be best - drop your battery in it and stir it around for twenty minutes or so. The alcohol should dissolve the juice and get it out of contacts or whatever is making your battery not work. Then pull it out and shake out as much of the alcohol as you can. If you had a desiccator cabinet it would be ideal, but most people don't have those sitting around. You can fake one with a low wattage light bulb in a cardboard box. Don't let the temperature get warmer than about 40C. Let the battery sit in there for a couple of hours, then give it a shot.

However, the best I've been able to find here in Aus, from the local pharmacy, is "Isoscol Rubbing Alcohol" but it is only 640ml/ltr (64%) which is below the 90-99% that they talk about on the forum.
May help but if SA can get supplies to you by Wednesday, probably best. Nothing is open until Tuesday
I used everclear once... not recommended for drinking but its really strong. haha
That shouldn't be a problem. It's the middle of summer in the middle of the desert. My whole world's a dessicator box!
I know I have new gear on its way, so I'm willing to give anything a go. I'll try soaking it in Isocol, and let you know how it goes.

I just wanted to say I feel for you.
I personally travel with an extra charged battery, 3 bottles of juice, and 2 extra cartomizers...and a wall charger sometimes, too, lol.

(The battery's gone though the rubbing alcohol solution, and it's currently being desiccated. The jury's still out on that solution.)
In the meantime, I decided to try to make a "passthrough" using the USB PCC charger that came with my elusion starter kit. I cut the end that would normally go into the PCC off, stripped the wires, plugged the USB into my computer, and touched the exposed wires directly onto the end of my cartomizer. And it worked! It's a bit of a Frankenstein solution, but it'll do.
A few things to note (for any kiddies trying this at home):
* The computer keeps warning me that a "USB device is drawing too much power". I haven't had nicotine for over 72 hours, so I'm almost beyond caring about warnings. But if you're a more sensible sort, perhaps you might want to stop at this point.
EDIT: this has fried my laptop's battery. If you feel that only being able to work while plugged into mains power might cramp your style, turn back now!
* Despite the warning above the "device" keeps working, but the cord and the atty/cartomizer do get quite hot. Don't burn yourself.
* There is no "button" or automatic sensor. For so long as the wires are touching the atty/cartomizer it will keep drawing power. Presumably it will catch on fire at some point. Probably best not to find out just how quickly this might be.
* Exposed, uninsulated wires are dangerous. Don't stick your fingers on them, don't leave the "device" plugged into the USB unattended, and don't cross the streams!
* DO NOT FORGET THAT ALL OF THIS POWER/WIRES/HEAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR FACE!! That alone should make you think twice and be careful.
* Don't blame me if you are silly enough to try this and you get hurt. As you'll see by reading this thread in its entirety mine are fairly desperate circumstances. This is not a long-term solution, or even a very good idea. But it may get you out of a bind until new, more sensible vaping supplies turn up.
For now, I'm off to enjoy some Atomic Cinnacide goodness for the first time in far, far too long.

I could actually picture everything that you had said, lol.
Thankfully I didn't have to learn any of them the hard way. My luck for the week is obviously improving.
I grew up in an area like that. Summer temps would be up around 45C, and humidity levels would be around 2%. When I go back there now, to visit family, my lips and nose start to crack and bleed.
Be careful of the USB drawing too much power from your computer - this can cause hardware failure of the computer! If you have a USB plug in for an outlet I would highly recommend using that.
I did think of that. But then I decided that if it was a choice of getting zapped by a 5V USB cord or one plugged directly into mains power I'd go with the former over the latter! Especially since I'd effectively be attached to the current by my mouth if it all went horribly wrong (eek). Computers can be replaced, even if I'd really rather not have to.
As I said, it's really not a good idea generally. But it's working, nonetheless.

Just don't burn out your computer because I want to hear how this turns out.Without it you can't let us know.
Never fear, if this one dies there's another 5 in the house to replace it. The joys of being a computer techie, I guess. Besides, I have a paper clip and some blu tac laying around somewhere- I could pull my second MacGyver effort this week and make a new one! Or maybe not...
Well, OK lapsus, It's been long enough that you should have your supplies. Don't keep us in suspense any longer. Did you make it? We put a lot of effort into holding your hand while you were having problems now its time for you to let us know what happened. Did you blow out all 5 computers with your USB adaptor and can't get back to us. Don't make me come over there (under there?) to find out what happened.
