An eGo battery malfunctioned on me...?

Ok... First let me make straight clear that I dont know anything more than the very basics to electronics, and as far a as batts go, I dunno almost anything.
I have many eGo batts running simultaneously and from the very same vendor; have never had any issues with any of them before, but one. This particular battery decided she would not charge anymore. Despite this, it was still working and I would try to charge it every day but nothing!
Another eGo battery which I had been using for around one and a half month and was working fine suddenly started to heat up and smell like BOOM... I unscrew my LR 510 and it flashed a few times and then tried to check if it was alive but it would neither work nor charge anymore. The smell was very intense. The same LR atty seems to be working fine now on my other battery which wouldnt charge and ironically enough resumed its charging status!!!
So, now my questions to the batt gurus out there:
1. Was this an explosion? Why did this happen? Should I simply dump this batt?
2. Regarding my other batt: Why would it suddenly start charging and working again?
....So confused...

I edited the title of this thread so as not to be misleading. It appears that from what you describe I would not say the battery exploded. It does appear to have shorted our or malfunctioned in some other way. I will let other with more experience speculate as to what happened.

Batt is most likely dead. It probably smelled like a burning circuit board right??? I would NOT use the atty that caused the failure on another batt. The charging issue could be caused by juice build up on the batt cup. Always wipe them prior to charging.

If you have an voltmeter ohm out the suspect atty. If below 1.5ohms then that is most likely the cause of the baord failure on the eGo batt.

1. suitable (for vaping)
2. easy (to operate and understand by those of us electrically impaired)
3. inexpensive ('cause cheaper is gooder )

IKENVAPE has a nice cheap one.

Glad it helped. Every vaper should have at least a simple Multi Meter in their gear box. It does help immensely from testing atty's when you order a bunch at once (for DOA's) to finding failure modes in equipment when something goes wrong. Best of luck.

I recently lost two Ego batteries just as you described because of a bad atomizer. I wouldn't put it back in circulation until you get a chance to check it. I wish I'd thought it through before trying the second battery LOL.

I have tested it and it was exactely as Liv2Ski said...
Dumped the atty...

Oh! And about the 'Batt that wouldnt charge mistery': Also as Liv2Ski said!!!! It was liquid residue built up in both batt and charger.... (Almost unnoticeable at first sight!)
