The first rule of vaping: If it keeps you from smoking analogs, it is working just fine. I do not want any other person new to this experience to read this and think that just because I chose to put time and effort into advanced tools or techniques that they must also go down that road in order to be completely successful.

That being said, I am a tinkering kind of guy. Upon finding out that there was possibly more to this than an Ego and clearomizer (I am not taking anything way from that setup, but that is where I started), I started digging. I found available to me all sorts of ways to get more flavor, hit, or vapor and gazillions of toys to help get there.

Here is that hopefully interesting thought. For the more than thirty years that I smoked (note the past tense... do a little dance) , I don't think it ever crossed my mind about the intensity of the flavor, or amount of smoke I was putting out. I did not run from one brand or style of analog to another and then back again looking for that missing whatever. Now that I have managed to join the ranks of those who have given up smoking those same analogs (although a noob in that sense, I will still claim it) I do indeed wonder if I am getting enough of the the flavor of which I am now aware. I exhale a cloud of no longer toxic fog and wonder if my device is working up to par.

I feel the same way! I've only been vaping for a few weeks, but I'm hooked and completely off analogs now(except for the odd drunken night where I've bummed one or two). This is after 15 years of, at the worst times, up to 2 packs a day! D: I think I was just FINALLY ready to kick it.

It seems like all of my spare time is now spent looking up new e-juice or learning about hardware, and I'm loving it! I love gear and gadgets and tinkering and experimenting, so I think this is the beginning of a long, happy, healthier relationship. :)

Plus, I really can't imagine that I'm going to blow more money on this adventure than I ever did with cigarettes, so what the heck? I've probably saved near 150 bucks in the past couple of weeks, and that's definitely awesome.

I understand where your coming from here. I haven't smoked near as long as you have..Im only 22! but i love electronics and tinkering with gadgets and stuff as well. I started with a joyetech ego upgrade and just a lil ole vision clearo. That was 3 months ago. Now I own a vision spinner, ego upgrade, an mvp2 as well as a protank2, mini pt2, evod, and a t3s, and a few various wicked tanks. I started out not having any idea the number of vendors, name brands and different flavors and products there were. I kept coming across something bigger and better and had to have it. I havent worried much about money at all becuase i know im still spending less than on cigarettes, and if im spending more...oh well!

Welcome to club.
I like gadgets and I come from a family that has to have gadgets, my grand father had to have a color TV when they first came out, My dad had to have a VCR when they came out and I had to be the first in town to have a computer and if my wife hadn't objected I'd have an Evic.

By the way a 47" 3D HD television sells for less than that first color television cost and back then the average wage was less than $3.00 an hour. I hope vaping gadgets keep following this pattern (lower cost and more advanced).

The pursuit of the perfect vape may very well be part and parcel of the quitting analogs process. Psychologically. It was for me. It kept me busy, as did reading here, while I was getting off analogs. I think the psychological aspect of getting off analogs is mixed in there somewhere, the "buying stuff" is subliminal *reward* to yourself for not smoking, etc.

It;s just all in the mix somewhere, IMHO.

smacuser, howdy!

Question for you. I'm eagerly awaiting Fuzion opening their store, and I know there are a couple of smoke shops and the flea market offering some vape supplies, but aside from that is there anything going on in this town? I know Jax and Jax Beach have got some shops, but I don't have wheels. :( Riding my bike down the road is a lot easier than riding it to the next town...

Realizing that vaping is a learning process and will have individualized experiences as time goes on. I'm just thankful to not be smoking and to be aware of any side-effects so as to be able to make adjustments. An awareness of physical symptoms and trouble shooting is an important consideration, especially for 'older' folks. Herbology and aromatherapy formulating principles are transferable to formulating e-liquids. DIY with nicotine mg/ml, the PG/VG % and individual %'s of added flavors or ingredients can be a bit tricky so I'm thankful for the e-Juice Me Up calculator. Considering the minute things that can affect a person's health is making DIY a therapeutic hobby and an adventure that gladdens my heart. Reading posts has been interesting and helpful.
