I went from dipping to vaping. Does that count?

Yes, I suppose it does, because I am trying to get a feel for whether vaping causes respiratory problems. I am thinking it would be a good option for people who are smoking analogs, but what to improve their respiratory function. Finding people who have never smoked and started vaping eliminates the variable of them being previous smokers.

For example a lot of people seem to have respiratory problems when they switch from analogs to ecigs, but it seems this could be a temporary process of removing all the junk in their lungs from the analogs.

Does that make sense?

I have to say that im in the boat of not Smoking and starting vaping. I have always loved smoking Hookah, cigars, black and milds, and pipes but not a regular smoker. I smoked maybe once a week or once every other week. So i got into the vaping and I love the flavors and all. I only smoke lo nic 6mg or so and really enjoy it. I have been using my vaporizer at work and love to puff on it, seems to make the day go by faster. I like the fact that I can enjoy the smoking but have none of the health risk, that was the main reason I wasn't a smoker in the first place. Now I have no reason not to enjoy it. I love my Ego with the dual coil cartomizer from Mad Vapes.

Do you have any respiratory issues with vaping?

Just curious if there is anyone who has started smoking with E-Cigarettes. I am wondering how that experience compares with those who have switched from analogs.
Before I answer that question, I have to ask you why you are doing it.
Because my answer may differ depending on the reason.

I had quit smoking, but wasn't off nicotine, I was still using nicotrol inhalers when I found e-cigs, I continue at a small nic dose because nicotine is beneficial for Ulcerative Colitis. I know of several on the UC/Crohn's boards who turned to nicotine therapy to help their symptoms, e-igs being one of the preferred delivery products.

I want to write an article on the benefits of switching to ecigarettes to improve respiratory function. I want to be aware of any risks of respiratory problems from e-cigs.
I think the sample size of never-smokers turned vapers is very, very small.
And they aren't likely to have done it for very long either.

I'm not sure you're going to be able to get the information you're looking for yet.
Unless of course you're only interested in short-term effects based on a very small sample size.

Did you have any respiratory issues when you started the e-cigs?

I think your sample size would be too small to get good scientific evidence on non smokers who vape. Some people have PG allergies and maybe some have VG allergies, then some can do a little of both. You would have to take what little there is of nonsmoking vapers and put them into each of those categories just doesn't seem feasible.

I *might* fit this bill, I smoked analog for two years back in 2000-2001, then I quit. I've been vaping about three weeks on 0mg and 3mg (sometimes mixed) I just really like the flavor of the smoke and being about to relax by going outside for a smoking break.

It is also helping me stick to my diet. I've lost about 10 lbs since I started!

As for effects? My throat is very dry! You know that "throat hit" people keep going on about? Well, I don't think I need it, what I need is smoke volume so I can practice blowing smoke rings and such. I vape twice a day (though I skip days) about 15 puffs each time.

The only side effect I have noticed is the dry throat. I'm not convinced it's 100% safe but I will say this:

I really wish this was around when I started smoking in 2000! As a college kid I would have ****loved**** the whole concept and it could have saved me som lung capacity. I know smoking two years is "not that much" but it *did* have an impact.
