Hello all! Brand new to this increible world of e-cigs. My wife and I are in our mid forties and have both been pack a day smokers since our teens. WE WANT TO QUIT!! I think e-cigs might be the way to achieve that incrediby elusive goal. The fact that we’ll be trading one habit for the other is fine with us, considering the several thousand chemicals we’ll be leaving behind with analogs.

I have been put in charge of researching our options and that is how I have ended up introducing myself on this particular forum. For the past two weeks I have been obsessivly reading post after post on forum after forum in my quest to educate myself in all things vaping. We are talking dozens of hours in front of my computer monitor. I would venture to guess that I may now be the most e-cig educated person alive who has never even seen an e-cig in person, let alone actually take a puff off of one.

Or maybe not. I feel like I know tons more than I did two weeks ago, but there are still many thing to learn no doubt.:)

After first thinking the 510 would be my decision, I stumbled on the V4L forum and after reading a few hours I decided the VaporKing was the way to go, but the higher price, compared to the 510 and others was a bit of a bummer. But I love the cartomizer concept, especially because I know my wife (her name’s Lisa BTW) would not be a fan of contantly dripping or dipping. Less fuss is very key for her.

Then I finally realized that the VaporKing is a brand name for the KR808 and I was off and running again. I came to a screeching halt on this forum. After about half an hour, I realized that I had FINALLY found our e-cig and our supplier. Drew is obviously a great guy to do business with and after looking over his online store, the prices are simply awesome!! I haven’t even ordered yet and I feel the need to send props to Drew and NHaler!

So, now I have to wait only a little bit longer to become a participant in this vaping world. I’m currently on a depressingly tight budget (another reason, on top of the health benefits, to switch to e-cigs) and I have to wait until payday to place an order. That will be this Friday, so I figure early next week some time Lisa and I will be vaping away! I can’t WAIT to take that first hit!!

I plan on ordering either two starter kits and some juice, or maybe just one kit and an extra battery or two if the budget demands, but one way or the other, we will have our e-cigs next week!!

Also, my 64-year-old dad has been a menthol smoker since he was 14 years old and my mom almost as long. I told them about e-cigs last week and they both thought it sounded very interesting. They would both love to get away from analogs. I plan to let them try a Menthol cart and if it’s as good as I have heard I may soon have a couple new customers for you Drew.

So expect an order sometime Friday from a Hoosier named Brian.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on kicking the analog habit. I'm in the same age/pack boat as you guys and found PV's were the ONLY thing that got me off the analog habit.

I think you'll find all the vendors here are good people and do a great job. Look for deals and sales especially for ejuice - that'll help keep up the supply and maintain the budget. Saving and buying bulk (batts/attys/juice) goes a long way too. Even with that, I think you'll find e-cigs are less expensive in the long run.

Congratulations on your choice to get off the analogs! You made a great choice in your first PV, the KR808D-1/Vapor King is the only thing I ever recommend anymore. It is an easy to use device, and delivers great throat hit, flavor, and vapor. Drew takes good care of his customers. Just let us know if you have any questions.

Welcome, I am too of the same age/pack range. I have been vaping since May/June and I wished these would have been available when I was 16!

You have made a good decision going with Drew & NHaler. I also use the KR808. I wanted something that resembled the real thing and I too didn't want to hastle with the dripping/dipping.

On that note, I've just gotten into the dripping/dipping because I liked the feed back about Drews Lung Juice. Also I had tried some of the "preloaded" flavors and want more flavor. I've gotten my Lung Juice and can't say enough, I recommend it to everyone who has been smoking forever. There is a sticky for it, check it out.

Drew and Angie are excellent people to know. They will help you anyway they can, as well as all members of this forum.

Be sure to let us know what you think once you get started.

Thanks for the welcome posts. I will definitely try the lung juice. I don’t mind refilling carts. I plan on it for economical reasons. We just weren;t keen on the idea of having to constantly drip juice in the cart all day while vaping which seems to be a common complaint on the 510 and others with seperated atty's and carts. If I can refill and get better or more flavor than pre-filled all the better.

Speaking of, should I buy empty carts to add juice to or just refill pre-loaded ones when they’re empty? Also, I assume I should refill with the same or similar juice as what was preloaded.

You have made a great choice! If anyone would have told me I would be vaping an electronic device 6 months ago I would have had a big laugh

I'm a hardcore chain smoker and have been since I was 16 ... just had a birthday and turned 56 ( did I really say that:shock:)

I can't even pick up a cigarette now... there is no joy in them, no going back for me
in the beginning it was up and down for a few weeks and I did get tired of fiddling with carts, filling, dripping, topping off etc.. soon that all becomes routine, but once I found the Kr808 it became more natural and is a great way to start vaping

Just wish I would have found Drew sooner, his customer service and products are great .. wait till you try his HV or lung juices they are the best

Good luck and happy vaping

I have had great luck refilling the kr808, however don't let them run dry as they can burn the filler material

If I am out and about I just drip into the battery end about 4 or 5 drops and roll it in my hand to distribute the juice, I keep a 6ml bottle with me. Be careful about dripping in the battery end, if it leaks into the battery it will ruin the switch

At home though I will just pop the top off and put 18 drops or so in and let it sit awhile much easier than my 510, 901, 801 etc

I try to use a similar juice as the original cartomizer

I have not had any experience withnhaler, but understand from the huge number of positive posts that Drew is the real deal. Remember, e-cigs are not a 'magic bullet' to smoking cessation. Many folks on this forum, including me, have used the e-cig to successfully leave tobacco behind as part of a personal harm reduction strategy. Try out your new devices, make a mental note of the pros and cons of vaping and use those thoughts to create a wish list for your next device. And yes, there will be more devices you will want to buy. Enjoy!

Thanks.

It is our ultimate hope to leave tobacco behind, and I'm approaching this endeavor with that in mind. If I still crave analogs after I begin vaping, I will strive to reduce my intake of smoke in favor of vapor until it's ONLY vapor. My wife and I have vowed to give it 100% in this effort.

I do find it interesting how so many people go on about the different flavors of juice, where as a noobie who has yet to vape, it would seem like most former smokers would want something that's as close to a real cigarette as possible in taste. Did most of you start with a tobacco flavor and gradually switch to other flavors once you were confident that analogs were behind you forever? Do any of you exclusively use a tobacco flavor? I know it doesn't taste exactly like smoke, but I'm hoping, at least at first, that I can get a decent facsimile with vapor. I'm excited to sample some of the awsome flavors touted here and elsewhere, but my first priority is to get off the analogs.

Is this a common outlook for first timers? Is tobacco flavor the number one selling flavor? Have any quit smoking without using tobacco flavor at all?

Whew! I do gots the questions don't I?:(

Great advice...I have tried everything and spent a TREMENDOUS amount trying to quit and have become very frustrated over the years with all the remedies and myself...Be patient with yourself and keep TRYING if it dosent work right away and you find yourself craving analogs just keep trying and it WILL work for you..I used to get frustrated and throw the towel in on other methods, but I just kept trying this time and it works...

Hello and welcome! I think you guys will be happy but it does take some playing around with things to find your perfect fit.

We were talking about juices the other day. I have only been off cigs for a couple months and I had to give away the tobacco flavored juice I had... I really couldn't stand how much it smelled like tobacco. I also hear many menthol cig smokers find they prefer non-menthol flavors. Honestly, if you think about it - cigs taste TERRIBLE! We just get used to them. When you realize you can get your nicotine fix (or oral fix) with some wonderful fruity or chocolaty or whatever floats your boat flavor.... Tobacco I think would be my last choice. There are others of course that it HAS to smell and taste like cigs (and Drews USA Tobacco REALLY DOES). It is really subjective!

Also, don't totally toss the idea of dripping, dipping or whatever for your wife. It is a REAL money saver to refill your cartridges but I've not tried the model you're looking at so... I still think that even your wife wont mind the 3 seconds it takes to add a couple drops to the cartride ;) Specially if it makes things tasty!!!

Oh, I was a non-menthol smoker over 25 years, my sister menthol about 20 years. I now am hooked on the Blueberry Crumble and Peanut Butter Cup High Voltage liquids :) My sister is TOTALLY in LOVE with the Almond Joy. They are so different from our old smokes but not even looking for smokes AT ALL!!

Good luck and I am sure you'll be back with a rave review once you get that first order... You found a wonderful supplier!!!! My FAV!

You did your research and I am happy you found Drew and Angie.. cant say enough about them.. they are simply wonderful and CARE really CARE about their customers. Drew spends his spare time making new flavors, juice that burns better with half the nicotine, most of his flavors are USA based... does it get any better? YES and you will soon see!!

One thing to PLEASE take note on... The KR808 batteries will start to burn inside after about 8 times of refilling.. when refilling these carts you need to look inside and make sure it is not all burnt. I am making a video on how to refill these and the Greencig carts for Drew's customers... I made 3 or 4 already but I am my worste own critic and I hit delete..LMAO!!

Also I agree with everything written here except this: (MY Opinion)
Look for deals and sales especially for ejuice - that'll help keep up the supply and maintain the budget.
There are MANY cheap juices and sales.. I have been there done that.. Drew has the BEST flavors and consistency in his juice.. not over powerful where coats your tongue or soo weak you cant tell if its really 24 mg or 0 nic and runs like water..do your research about where you buy from =)

I have been begging Drew to get some empty carts.. he feels like they are empty and has to charge us for same as filled BUT honestly I only want Drew's juice in my ecigs.. I trust him and know where it comes from..so until then I will either vape till almost dry or mostly I take out filling, clean it and then refill with Drew's Juice! They come in soo many flavors it is easy to match up juices to the carts sold! And when he gets the greencig carts back you may want to try them.. they Rock.. you can look it up here in the forums fir perfectly on the KR808 and ou can adjust the draw on these.

HV juice works great for dripping on these carts and will get you some serious vapor!
Totally think you should try the lung juice, will be great while you are quitting.

One more thing:
Dont try to inhale like a reg analog cig.. you want to take a bit slower longer draw.. you will get the hang of it quickly! I wish you the best of luck and please dont hesitate to ask ANYTHING!!

I was a Newport smoker for over thirty years. I would find it unbearable to smoke anything but a Newport. After vaping for a few weeks on menthol e-liquids, I strayed into other flavors. That said, I no longer smoke anything with a menthol or minty taste anymore. There are so many gratifying flavors out there that locking myself in to menthol was ridiculous. There are also a lot of nasty flavors out there, but experimentation is paramount in finding your favorite fluids. My current daily flavors include tobacco, chocolates, peach and coffees.

I am so excited for you, good things are on the way!!! I wasn't sure what to expect at first, and a little afraid it wouldn't work at all. so I thought I should start with the more familiar tobacco flavors, expecially after years of smoking and failed attempts to quit.. bought a cheepo 510 kit and voila! ...within 3 days, no more stinkies!!!the flavors I had chosen were weak and just **kinda** okay. but at least I was happy to be off the cigs, it was so easy it was shocking!! Then I found Drew and NHaler, tried his lung juices, then the high voltage juices.. I found myself vaping flavors I would NEVER have thought I'd like, but I LOVE them! (yay for sampler sizes!!!!) I am so thankful. Drew's juice is what finally made me know for SURE that I was absolutely, completely (and happily) a non-smoker for the rest of my life.

The kr808 and the 510 are both great PVs though very different. You have to use them for awhile and find what works best for you.

Almost everyone starts off wanting a tobacco flavor and they are good sellers across the board. When you first start vaping you probably think (as I did) why on Earth would I want to smoke something that tastes like a banana or a peach? Simple - you're not smoking, you're vaping! If Phillip Morris could make a cigarette that tasted like Drew's Peaches and Cream they would and they'd make a mint!

Spend a lot of time playing with your new toy and you'll just naturally stop wanting a cig so often. Some people it happens the first day. I smoked 2 packs a day for 30+ years and quit after a week of vaping. Without any effort, I noticed that I was only smoking 5 or 6 cigs a day, so I just didn't buy another pack. That was 3 or 4 months ago.

The only time I really had the urge to smoke was first thing in the morning - that little bell would go off. So I'd just start the coffee maker and start vaping while it brewed. By the time I finished my first cup, the cig was totally forgotten.

Now the smell (and I'd imagine the taste) of cigarettes is nasty. The taste of Orange Creamsicle, 555, and many others is really really good!

Welcome to the club and good luck! :)

Thanks so much to everyone for the comments and well wishes. My wife and I read them over last night and we are more excited than ever. It's like the week before Christmas! It can't get here soon enough. We're spending a lot of time browsing NHaler.com debating back and forth on what to buy on our first order. Which flavors, how many carts, one kit or two, batteries. etc. and we've had a smile on our faces the whole time. I haven't been this excited about someting in some time.

Neither has our 12 year old daughter by the way. Like any good child, she hounds her parents relentlessly to quit smoking, using her formidable imagination to paint heart-wrenching scenarios of the possible future if we keep poisoning ourselves with tobacco. Yes, we tell her, we want to be alive and sans oxygen masks in the future, and yes, we want to see her future children/our future grandchildren grow up. When I explained the e-cig to her and our determination make the switch, permanantly, she was quite thrilled to put it mildly.

So, yeah, we are going to make this work.

Ponduke-funny you should mention your daughter-I too am now getting the thumbs up from my daughter who is 15. When I realized how much analogs stank and how that went to school with her I was embarrassed.

She is getting to the point where she knows what flavor I am vaping by the color of the cart, except for cherry and strawberry which are both red. lol

Threw a wrench in her works yesterday though, I was vaping a Green cig Green Tea cart which is green. The banana I had tried in the past was also green. Ha ha kid, I fooled ya! lol

By the way, if you get a small tin as one of your freebies, guard it with your life! Kaitlin (my daughter) loves mine, um hers. :)

Update: I mentioned my dad (Gene) in this thread's opening post. He works in HVAC at hospitals and he cannot smoke on hospital properties. He hates waiting till lunch to light up. He called me minutes ago and asked my about those new fangled e-cigs I told him about last week. Told him that Lisa and I were ordering ours tonight. He said “I’ll be over tonight. I want to order a kit too.” So, Drew I even haven’t ordered yet and I got you a new customer! LOL!
