I think they were around 2.25/pack for marlboro's when I started smoking back in the 80's and I thought that was expensive. Now they are around 6.30/pack if you buy them as a 2 pack special in my state! Even with around $120 in a kit/cartos/juices over the past month, I'll still only be about half of my 'normal' analog costs at the end of the month..... crazy!

When I used to smoke, I would always tell myself, "Ok man, you just spent over $7 for this pack, you ARE going to make them LAST!" Half way through the day and completely through the pack I would then say...well, I can't use those words in this forum.

The point is that I was a slave to the cigs. I would have spent damn near any amount of money for them and the sad part is that I wouldn't have rationed them either.

Same here. I once said that to some one "I'm a slave to these things".

Analogs were about 55 cents a pack when I started smoking.
I worked at a store where we charged 75 cents a pack.
Customers would get so outraged: "75 CENTS!!!"
A carton was $7.11.

As Robin stated be gald you don't live in NY and smoke!!! My habit was costing $15/day. Now I spend about as much on MODS, DIY, Atty's etc but I have one hell of a cool collection and my previous habit would have only netted me a pile of butts, empty packs and ashes for all that cash. Vape on and the tax man can KMA

In Australia, you are looking at $13-$15 for a pack of 25. And the Aus $ is very similar to the US $ at the moment. I can't believe how cheap cigs are in America! They are a lot more heavilly taxed here.

They slowly raise the sin taxes here to try and keep people buying. New York state estimated that they lost about 50 million in tax revenue last year from people buying cigs out of state and from indian reservations. Those poor politicians! How will they feed their families?

I hope your eGo comes in soon Kitty! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

$50+ dollars for a carton of Marlboro's in FL. $200 a month for me! I switched to making my own about a year ago, cost me about $30 a month. I would buy "pipe" tobacco that was really the same as the cigarette tobacco but labeled differently/cut differently. From what I hear the government is now planning to put the same tax on pipe tobacco, so it's a good thing I switched to e-cigs a couple weeks ago.

All this government involvement makes me nuts. Of course, it's not just the taxes raising the prices, the manufacturers are also raising them. Let's hope they don't get into the e-cig business, but most likely they will.
