I've not run into anyone who's totally against it, but other than the odd stealth hit at the office, I don't vape in places that ban smoking either. The experience I've run across generally falls into one of 3 categories:

1. "Cool!" "Can I see that/try that?" "How does it work?" etc. (majority of people fall under this category)
2. "That's so dorky!"
3. (specifically for use as a smoking cessation tool) "It's just a gimmick. Either quit or don't."

I'm like a lot of these folks. I tried it 13 days ago and have not had anologs since. I only smoke/vape when I drink beer (which my wife says is all the time. LOL) I was close one day when both of my 510 batts ran dry (I was power vaping during a Bears game). But I held out, charged them for short periods and was able to get enough hits to keep me going. I plan to pick up my extra equipment from the post office today (from Heaven Gifts). Passthrough, PCC, extra batts and attys.

I will not get caught like that again. Especially since I don't want to have to stand in a freezing garage during Chicago winters. I used a propane heater in the past and that thing cost me a fortune in tanks plus the cost of the Eclipse that I smoked (more expensive than other brands).

Keep it going, don't let anyone burst the bubble. This is the best thing that has happened to smokers...EVER!

It seems at least on the forum that most people who switched to ecig have not switched back to analogs. I started vaping by accident. Not planning to quit. I was just pleasing my husband by trying ecigs. Before I knew it I didn't want to smoke anymore. I have been quit 7 months after smoking 40 years 3 packs a day.

I would recommend a Chuck. I have the Little Chuck which is smaller. There is no comparison to the vapor and throat hit to other brands. I used the 510's before this.I would recommend it to anybody.

Like everything else related to vaping, I think it varies from person to person. I originally bought a kit because I had an 8 hour plane ride ahead of me in September and the thought of trying to get through it with a patch or gum made me queasy. My 510 got me through the trip--plus it was great not to have to huddle with the other analog smokers in those gross "smoking lounges" they have in some airports in Europe (they still have them in a few US airports, too). But I also brought analogs with me on the trip and, since i had them, i just tended to smoke them. I vaped and analog smoked for several weeks after I got home until I ran out of analogs. For me, the first few days were a little rough--but nothing compared to trying to quit altogether.

I've just created new rituals. I still go outside, when the weather is ok, just for the social contact with other smokers and because i'm used to doing that when I take a smoke break. ( I usually end up answering a lot of questions about my PV). I agree with previous posters, though, about how disappointing analogs are once you are into vaping. NO COMPARISON. I'd say-- go ahead and smoke a few analogs now and then if you have the hankering for them. It won't be long before you retire your lighters, etc. One day you wake up in the morning, reach for your pack, don't have any cigs left, dig out your PV and, a few seconds later..... ahhhhh...... all better. Once that happens, you'll never look back.

. . . by the way, the reduced cost is a huge bonus. I'm noticing more and more ECF members from Chicago and other parts of the upper Midwest. Might have something to do with the fact that analogs in Chicago average 8-10 bucks a pack. 4 dollars of that is TAX. I understand that every state is dealing with budget shortfalls. But I'm appalled that my state/city government is "budgeting" funds--funds that are dependent on me doing harm to myself-- in order to pay for basic services. There is something disconcerting and plain wrong about that scenario.

The worst part of the cigarette taxes is that they were supposed to go to healthcare since big bad cigarettes are obviously the cause of everything from lung cancer (okay, pretty likely a lot of the time) to shortness of pants.

Somewhere along the line, most states just add vice taxes into the rest of the budget and allocate it along with funds from lottery (oh, wasn't that supposed to be for the schools... then the stadiums..? now what?), income taxes and property taxes.

I had tried to quit so many times and ways it isn't even funny. After receiving the 510 starter quit I went down immediately from more than a pack a day to about 4-5 a day. The day I received my passthroughs, I quit. No problem.

Now I am enjoying more the 801 pt, and should receive my Protege very soon.

I agree with the previous poster who said the chuck may be overkill for you. 510 kit and a PCC is probably all you need. The reason I prefer the 801 pt is because it has a larger cartridge, tons more vapor, and no button.

Best wishes!

The only time I have gone back to analogs was when my batterys both died..now i carry my charger with me :) when i first ordered my kit, I was planning on just vaping at home and smoking in the car and at work. Did NOT work out that way! By the end of the first week I was maybe at 1 analog a day and it was horrible the whole time. I never smoked a full analog again after I started vaping. They just taste too horrible.

They are horrible! I wasn't prepared and my bat ran out last night but I waited an hour to get home where I had one in the charger rather than smoking those nasty analogs. And it was that much more enjoyable since I did have to wait.

and I thought 510's have better vapor than 801s...?

That seems to be the popular opinion.... I use both and the 510 does seem to put out a bit more....but who am I but just another opinionator hehe

OP why not put up a poll on your thread and you can gather and figure out a ruFF est. %

Haven't had an analog since July. Once I got a setup that I could live with (510 mega batts then the chuck 510) I never looked back at analogs. They are just not appealling to me anymore. After 30 or so years of smoking, quiting, smoking, quiting etc... I have finally found something that quenches that addiction. However, the quest for the perfect PV continues.
