The painstaking process of "breaking in" a new atty. I'm a dripper and I hate putting on a new atty and it taste like crap. I've blown out the nasty clear primer stuff, put in my juice and let it sit for a few minutes before vaping. The first 3 hits of my Dekang 555 were heavenly, then without fail, it got nasty! Looking for better advice on the prevention of this or even to be pointed in the right direction of an out of the box ready to drip and go LR atty. Thanks in advance to all you advice giving wonderful folk out there!

I hope this will help, but I definitely understand your pain. Mind you, I've done this on quite a few attys and I've only gone through about... 3, and those were from newbie mistakes. I have two attys going very strong both at 6 months of age.

I blow out all of the primer and then I drip some rubbing acohol (70% isopropyl) right on the atty and let it sit in a small paper cup. After about 2-3 minutes, I blow out the alcohol and let them dry for about 12-18 hours. I blow them out to make sure they're completely dry. Then I drip 5 drops of whatever liquid I'm using to break it in and let it sit on its threads for 2-3 minutes, pop on a drip-tip, and vape. It should be good to go :)

What type of atty are you using? I've got an eGo T Tank type B ... do you think your method would work on it?

I've always treated brand-new attys as if they were used and filthy. I put them through my usual cleaning process before using them for the first time. That's also what Raynen (post #5 in this thread) is doing, too: he's basically cleaning his attys before he uses them.
