I have been using 3 pairs of 14500's for about a month. Two sets are Ultrafire, 1 set is Trustfire flames. I have been faithfully rotating them in my VV evercool boxmod by Krimson Kustom. I always use a Boge sr carto, and I vape at around 4.5V. They come off the charger around 4.2V, just like they should, but they don't seem to last as long as they did when they were new. I don't think I've been vaping more lately, I always vape a lot, LOL. ;) :vapor:

Is this possible in just a month?

Is it worth the money getting some AW IMR's? Should I just get more of these?
The ones I have say 900mah, the AW IMR's say only 650mah. Why the difference?

I've got a pair each of grey Ultrafires, Trustfire flames, and AW IMR's, all in 14500. The Ultrafires just don't seem to have the oomph that the Trustfire's or AW's have. The Trustfires are a bit better but don't last as long on a charge as the AW's. I haven't used the Ultrafires for quite a while simply because the others work better, at least in my opinion. If I were going to buy more batt's, it would be the AW's for sure.

As far as the mah rating, AW doesn't exagerate their rating, the other brands tend to.

I've got all three different kinds. I know that AW is a brand but I don't know what IMR stands for. I've had my ultrafires for several months now. I just got some new trustfires and a couple new aw imrs. The imr's seem to give more oomph for longer. The way I understand it, they give more consistant voltage for longer instead of the voltage dropping off quickly after you start vaping. The best price (for aw imrs) I've found is super T mfg a good price and shipping is a little over $1. I ordered mine from clouds of vapor and I could have saved about $5 if I had found them at Super T sooner. When I order more, I'll get more aw imr's.

Thanks, cskent and donnah. Here's the thing. Right now, this is my only mod. I have 2 Buzz Pro's put away for Christmas, one of which I can smeak using while Hubby's at work. I can't it all of the time 'cuz he can't know about them.

I have 2 more mods coming within the next month or so with a different size batt which ARE AW IMR's. So, this will be my backup and the only one that takes 14500's. I'm not sure if I want to spend this much money on batts. I think I'll just get a few more Trustfires and call it good...

Ms. My4Jewels IMR batt are high drain safer chemistry batts, while they don't last as long as their brethren, they do hold their voltage longer and handle high current draw better. Drawing a higher current than a batt can handle really affects the life of the batt in a negative way.... Since you're using a vv device, would suggest high drains. :)

AW IMR's are LiMN chemistry and are a safer battery than Li-ion types, such as the Ultrafire's and Trustfires. Li-ion batteries need a protection circuit so they don't over-charge, drain too quickly, or drain to a low, unsafe voltage. When Li-ion batteries over-charge or drop to a low voltage, they can be dangerous because the vent hydrogen gas which is explosive when combined with oxygen. LiMN batteries don't need the protection circuit because they don't produce explosive gasses.

Ditto what they said about others exagerating may where AW is spot on...without explaining all the math, lets also just say that just going by mAh rating is only half the answer:
Batteries also have a C rating which dictates how much amperage you can draw from them ultrafires are like a 2C rating where the AW IMR are an 8C rating...
Depending on the resistance of the Atty and the voltage determines how many amps you're trying to draw...exceeding the Max that the battery can handle will give you voltage sag (not true voltage) and will damage the life and capacity of a lesser battery...

Because of that the ultrafires you'll technically hit more to get the same amount of satisfaction as the AW IMR so they actually last about the same amount of time per charge and the AW last longer in overall useable life span

I take it that with 3 sets of batteries you are not charging any set more than once a day? 30 cycles shouldn't significantly weaken those batteries. What kind of charger do you have? It sounds to me (since it's happened to all 3 sets, different brands) that your charger maybe damaging your batteries. You should talk to whoever you got the charger from and see if they will replace it or give you credit towards a better charger.
