Bare with me folks.. the Samsung I bought to try isn’t lasting me as long but I only got one so I suppose I could buy another. I’ve read good things about the 30q batteries and was trying to find out if these with work with my unregulated Priv V8? I have been using the Q2 .6 coils.. I found a good deal on one of the sides I think it was illum- something so I was gonna snag a few if they are compatible.

If you're using a .6 ohm coil, the 30Q should be fine. @Beamslider was right about the amperage and the fact that your mod is regulated. I see the mod outputs a maximum of 4.2 volts. So, using 60 watts and 4.2 volts, the maximum output would be 14.28 amperage. and you would have to be using a .294 ohm coil to use the mod at full power. If you run any lower of an ohm coil, it will regulate itself to a lower wattage.

I believe the mod will fire the coils at 4.2.. and try to keep the voltage at that level and adjust it's wattage to get that voltage. with a .6 ohm coil, it will regulate itself to 29.4 watts. So the batteries you have should be fine no matter what ohms you put on the mod, It seems it's maximum amperage is 15 amps, and it's other limits will keep the mod within a 15 amp or under limitation.

Now, the Priv V8 is a single battery mod. I am a moderate vaper (not a heavy vaper), I run around a .7 or .8 ohm coil, and I simply cannot go a full day on one battery. There simply isn't enough MaH in any battery that will extend the vaping time to do that. Usually I need a dual or bigger mod to go a full day. Using a 2500ish battery, I will need to change the batteries at least once, and sometimes twice towards the end of the day. If that's the case with you, that's just the fact that it's single battery. if it lasts you a matter of an hour or two, I would suspect it's a defective or fake battery. You should be able to go through about 5ml of juice before needing a new battery.... this is a rough estimate. If you can last through about 5ml of juice, then you're fine.

The Priv V8 is a regulated "fixed output" battery device, meaning you can't adjust the voltage or wattage output of the battery with a button. Wattage or voltage output of this device depends upon the resistance of the coil used, much like a mechanical operates.

A 0.2 ohm coil will draw 16.8 amps from a battery. Your Samsung 30Q is only a 15 amp battery, so it would be underpowered to use with a 0.2 ohm coil on the Priv V8.

It's a shame that SMOK doesn't tell you what battery specs you need. I see on a few websites that they provide you with a 0.2 ohm coil in the tank with the starter kit, but one of the battery options for the kit is the Samsung 30Q 3000mah 15A battery. SMOK apparently doesn't know about Ohm's Law.

You should use a higher ohm coil if available for your tank, or
you should get better results with a 20 - 25 amp battery:

I’m so confused. I’m using a .6 coil not .4

Thank you, finally put in a way I can understand. I have .6 coils I order online but I know my shop only carries .25 so hopefully those will be fine too.
And that actually sounds about right as far as juice goes. It isn’t so bad when I’m working and I’ve been using my moms when I’m home if I need to.. I just hate spending the $13.50 per at my local place so I’m trying to stock up. I did go with a Nitecore dual charger from my last post so I’m confident I understood that much. So thank you!

I always liked the Q2 Baby coils when I used drop-ins. They had just the right balance between cloud and flavor for this 40-ish Watt mod womper.
That’s actually what I thought too. My mom uses the M2 and a lot of cloud which I don’t necessarily care a whole lot about.

It's not lasting 'as long' as what? If it's not lasting as long as it used to, the solution is likely to get a new battery. A battery's performance will deteriorate both with usage and over time. If you're hard on it it'll drop faster, but even if you treat it very well or don't use it at all and store it properly, it will still age.

If it's just not lasting as long as you'd like, I'll start by asking which battery you're using now. The 30Q is also a Samsung. A 0.2 or 0.25 coil wouldn't be good with it, but the 0.6 ohm one would be fine. If you're currently using the Samsung 25R, you would get a little more run time from the 30Q with the 0.6 ohm coil, but not a whole lot.

I don’t understand how I could actually know how many watts I’m actually vaping at as there is no way for you to tell.

@Baditude didn't mention watts, he mentioned amps. In any case, you can calculate a variety of things from what we do know. Example:

Volts: the maximum voltage of a 18650 battery is 4.2 v.
Ohms: you're using a 0.6 ohm coil

Ohms law: Current = volts/resistance = 4.2/0.6 = 7 amps

I just bought it and it’s lasting me the majority of the day however I’m up at 5a and go to bed around 10p, and I can tell it’s pretty far gone by usually 5p.

I don’t understand how I could actually know how many watts I’m actually vaping at as there is no way for you to tell.
It's easy if you use an Ohm's Law Calculator.

ohms_law_calculator.png

You insert 2 known values and it comes up with the 2 unknown values. For example, a fully charged battery is 4.2 volts so you put in 4.2 into the voltage window. Your coil resistance is 0.6 ohm, so you put in 0.6 into the resistance window. Click calculate.

RESULT: The "amp draw" of that coil is 7 amps and the wattage is 29.4 watts.

It's always a great idea to have more than one battery available. It's not unusual to need a couple of batteries in order to be able to vape all day. I personally rotate 7 Samsung 30Q batteries. You can never have too many batteries. ;)

And just in case you didn't know, you should always transport loose batteries in a plastic battery case in a pocket or purse. Contact with anything metal (coins or keys) can short out the batteries and make them vent gas or explode.

Batteries are much cheaper if you order from an online battery supplier.

The 25R has a capacity of 2500 mAh while the 30Q is 3000 mAh, so in theory it could increase your run time by a bit over 1/5 or 2 - 3 hours. Even the 30Q is unlikely to last all day, and there aren't any suitable 18650 batteries with a higher capacity.

I'd recommend two batteries and an external charger so you can swap them out and charge when you need to. You could also try a new, two battery mod. You might be happier with another mod - with most regulated mods, your vape wouldn't get cooler as the battery discharges.

Ok so as long as it’s in the amp limits it’s fine? That means I’ll automatically be vaping at 29 watts correct?

I’m using to EGO AIOs now but I wanted something different because of the battery life so I know I’m vaping at a low watt and it’s fine for me, I’m not looking to do anything amazing just quit smoking. I’ve also notice since I’ve been using the Priv more I’m more prone to DTL vs MTL which satisfies my cravings more. I also switched vape juice because the one I loved was either to much nic or something wasn’t agreeing with me because I haven’t had a migraine since switching brands.
