I was trying to quit in early November. I considered Chantix, then found this forum. I guess I am lucky I never started on Walgreens disposables.

My first try was the Kgo, from Hoosier. It was $44.00, and well worth it. It took longer to find juices I liked. I still took a few puffs from cigarettes for a month or so, then I decided that vaping tasted so much better, that I tossed the cigarettes.

Congrats on quitting, and welcome. We're here for you if you have any questions. I know it can be overwhelming.

Can I ask what you're using? I have looked at the surprising number of options and can't decide what to order. I really enjoyed smoking, too.... I am so happy to have quit. I wasn't sure I could do it. I am at 1 week and a day and my lungs are starting to feel lighter. I think you are in the part of Ohio that is actually having a winter this year. :)

The flavor that made it happen for me was fire & ice - it's cinnamon with menthol. I was a menthol smoker. I wasn't even going to buy that flavor because there were so many yummy sounding ones, but picked it on a whim for whatever reason. I'm sure glad I did. The other flavors seem really weak, but not this one. I know everyone's tastes are different, but I think finding a good juice is key so you'll stay on that (& actually look forward to it) rather than analogs. I recommend the variety packs of juices offered by many vendors so you can try different flavors relatively inexpensively until you find what works for you. (Not that I'm an expert or anything...) Oh, and started with the ego-c kit based on all the information here on ecf. Been reading and researching for a couple weeks. As stated earlier in this thread, 'information overload'!

The last week has been the most like winter. I'm not complaining! The best winter I can remember ever.

Hello and welcome to ECF dlsw, I hope you find vaping and this community as helpful in your quest to stop smoking as I have. I too started this journey after loosing my father to lung cancer. 1 month to the day after his death I picked up an eGo kit smoked 5-6 cigarettes over the 1st couple of days vaping, and have been been smoke free for over three months now.

The folk here at ECF are a very helpful and excited bunch and there is a wealth of information available to us here. I have found the vaping experience to be much more enjoyable than smoking ever was, and I hope you have a similar experience.

I am sorry to hear of your loss, but glad to find you here and wish you all the best.

E-cigs seem like the only thing that meets the needs of my addiction. I have smoked for 31 years, grew up in a smoking family, lived in countries with cultures where smoking meets some sort of social bonding need. I really did not think I could do it. But I did. My quit date was 2-5-12, the anniversary of when my dad died of lung cancer. Planning ahead, I have ordered a Vapor Titan starter kit. I'll just use the disposables til then. Sorry this is so long, but ever since my dad died, I just kinda assumed that I would die like that too. Now I have hope for a future.

Welcome! It's good to read about what a difference e-cigs have made! Just as they have for me.

You can still hang out with smokers and go out for "smoking" breaks if you like. That's the great thing about e-cigs: you give up all the bad stuff, but you can keep whichever harmless parts of your smoking habit you want to.

Good luck keeping off the analogs, and happy vaping! :vapor:
