Or soon to be convert, I suppose. I ordered a starter kit today and looking forward to getting it.

Like others on here, I'm sure, I've tried the pills, patches, gum, meditation, hypnosis and acupuncture to get me off the analog smokes. None of it worked very long. I've toyed with the idea of e-cigs for awhile, but it wasn't until someone on a gaming forum (of all places!) talked about his experience with them.

Having turned 45 just a couple of weeks ago, health is very much on my mind. so is the fact, I just had all of my teeth extracted and fitted with dentures, and the thought of all that money turning yellow from cigarettes really got me serious.

Though there seems to be some negativity about the blu cigs, that's what I ordered. After spending almost 7 grand on the dental work, it's what I could afford (ha!). Funny thing from the moment I hit the order button, everytime I light up, I can't wait for the package to come so I can get rid if these damn things. I've smoked about a pack a day for 27 years and just sick of it. I'm also sick of visiting my Mother and getting the constant nagging, the feeling of being a second class citizen because I smoke, the mess, expense etc.

Well that's my story. Looking forward to becoming active here.

welcome. I smoked for 40 years - up to 3 packs a day when I quit. I also tried everything out there to quit. Since vaping I have not had another analog and I have only craved one maybe twice. I cannot believe I quit. I hope you have the same results.

I never used blu. It may end up being fine for you. Some people must like it or the company wouldn't still be in business!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I've spent the better part of today going through a number of threads here, and figured i should at least introduce myself. I will definitely check out the blu forum. If it's not for me, I can always look at something else (and sure I can deal with it until Christmas time and ask for something better lol).

Nice to read so many satisfied ecig users-it certainly gives me hope!

Hi Scott and welcome to ECF. Good to see you here.

Hope your Blu works. Seems like people have either a love or a hate relationship with them. Never had one myself so I can't comment.

Assuming it does work I think you'll find you can get away from cigarettes in just a few days. A lot of it is mind-set and it sounds like you've already taken care of that part.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you do. Its always nice to hear another success story!

Welcome to ECF Scott.

Ah yes, the anticipation of getting your first E-cig thru the mail. I remember that feeling too, not so very long ago. I was excited at the prospect of quitting cigarettes after so many years. I had virtually given up on quitting.

Now I am cigarette free for 6 weeks. I was surprised how easy it was. Just quit completely the day I received my PV and have not had any cravings for analogs at all.

I got one from safecig at first, I wasn't able to stop completely with it but i did cut way back. then I found the forums and decided to order an ego for both my boyfriend and I. We were watching the mail daily for it (took like 2 weeks or so from China) until they arrived and we were able to stop smoking completely using it.

good luck to you and grats on your first step!

Welcome to ECF Scott. (Can I say that since I just joined yeterday? heh)

Well, to be fair, it's easy because we are still getting our nic. I love my nic, don't get me wrong, but just to be fair. Been stinky free since April, no problems.

And, though I do not look forward to regulations or whathaveyou, I am looking forward to knowing more. I am convinced this is much much safer than stinkies, but I do wonder what the long term affects of breathing PG/VG and vaporize nic juice. I look forward to knowing what the brains find ultimately, as you know they will. I just hope the research isn't completely tainted by Big Tobacco. You know BT doesn't want vaping to take off, but ... oops, to late. :)

I think you just did iWill! And I guess I can say welcome to you as well. :toast:

And I have no doubt as soon as the gov't finds a way to make money off us, they'll be happy and leave us alone.

Heh ... thanks. But isn't it weird, it's like .... COME ON GOV, TAX ME AND LET'S GET THIS OVER WITH ... then shut UP already.

sigh

But what worries me there is Big Tobacco and Big Pharma. You think "healthcare" really wants tobacco to go away? Or how about the "anti-tobacco" industry? Lots of $$$ to keep tobacco going. This is an uphill battle all the way, but I am happy to be on the good side of it for, perhaps, once in my life. :glare:

It drives me nuts! And of course they don't want tobacco to go away-think of all the money they'd lose, taxes aside. Still from the research I've done, e-cigs are still a hell of a lot cheaper than analog smokes-and hopefully will remain that way even if they do tax it (which they will eventually I'm sure).

Still, I think it's the best choice I've made in a long time.

Welcome to the forum!

Among the things that I enjoy about having given up smoking after 30+ years are whiter teeth, not gasping after climbing a lot of stairs and me and my cloths not stinking like cigarettes! Wow, once I had quite and my sense of smell and taste returned, I realized how much I had been missing for all those years that I had smoked.
