Lately I have been having a real problem getting my juices to be sweet/flavorness enough. Ive added up to 8 drps of any of the following to my mixtures (5ml) Ethyl Maltol, Stevia, EZ-Sweetz, cotton candy, marshmello..I think Ive tried it all. Not sweet enough and very very little flavor. Yes I would add a drop, drip and test..leave sit for a few days...test, drop..well rinse and repeat. I do not have a cold at this time either.
I think I figured out why!
I use to mix at 80pg/20vg or 75pg/25pg. I bought some 36mg vg based Nic. I cut that with pg, giving me a 50/50 18mg base. I THINK thats why my flavor/sweetness is lacking.
So please correct me if Im wrong.
I have an order coming that is 36mg pg based. If I add that to the 36mg vg based, I should have a base of 36/pg/vg mix. If I then cut that with pg, I should have a base of 18mg 75pg/25vg base. Am I figureing this right?
I hope this fixes my flavor/sweetness problem. Im getting pretty dang frustrated right now!
Thanks in advance.

Are you using the ejuicemeup calculator? At 36 starting in VG if you follow the instructions in the claculator and insert everything properly you should still be able to get a reasonable nicotine amount and have ah igher PG ratio. Pg adds to flavor VG dulls it. I think you need to recalculate your entire recipe into the calculator inclding if you are cutting with distilled water or whatever each flavor percentage and then see how it tastes. What percentage of sweetener are you using? What brand?

Yes I do use that and I am not able to get the 80/20 nor even 70/30 due to the nic being 100% vg. In order for me to get to 18mg, it has to be a 50/50 mix. The one Ive been using for a few months now, I did not have to add sweetner, at 80/20 was great, but when I have to use it at 50/50, its pretty blah...adding the sweetner did not help either.
5ml
5% apple
5%cinn
8%peach
3drps menthol
Using this, I had no need to add sweetner, not til I had to go to the 50/50 mixture

Ethyl Maltol, Stevia, EZ-Sweetz, cotton candy, marshmellow are the different types of sweetners I have tried, and no percentage..it was a drop at a time/day/sit method.

You'll want to start with a higher % nic base in the EJMU calculator. If you start @ 18% nic, then add flavorings and sweeteners, your final nic% will be much less than 18%

I also recommend not pre-mixing your nic base to 50/50. Much better to mix your nic base to higher pg, or just use 100% pg for starters if you want that 80pg/20vg final.

Play around with the numbers in the e-juice me up calc. and you'll see what I mean. I start with 100%pg nic @ 48mg now for maximum flexibility on my mixes... usually ending up with an 80pg/20vg blend. I also don't like adding straight PG to any mix, as I find it has a strong taste(maybe just my bottle).

See, I'm the opposite. I find vg especially so sweet that I rarely feel the need to add ANY sweetener to my mixes! If I do, a few drops of EM does it...I tried using a couple of drops of tpa (tfa/whatever) sweetener once and no amount of anything was EVER gonna fix that mess! Another one down the drain...

Did you go with a new nic vendor? Could it be the actual flavor of the nic or pg that's making a difference? I ordered a quart bottle of a popular pg recently that I found so sweet I couldn't use it! Brands DO make a big difference imo :2c:

Everyone is Different.

I like some e-liquids Sickly Sweet. I have given samples to some people I know and they say it Tastes just like Maple Syrup and can't stand it.
