I have an istick 50w, subtank mini, and mutation x v3. I want to get another device but I'm not sure what yet. My istick works great and I never go over 30 watts. I do love the look of little plain mech mods but not sure if they're right for me. I've built as low as .3 ohms, but my builds usually come out to .4 on my dripper. Out of all the info I'm reading, my understanding is a mech mod might put out 4+ volts, but drops as the battery dies. My istick can put that out until it's battery dies so why would I get a mech if it's unreliable in terms of power?... and since I like to run my subtank at just 16w, would a mech be too much for it?

Mechs put out a max Voltage of 4.2 on a full charge. You have the perfect device already. The eleaf will fire up to 10v if you put the right build on it. Close to 2ohm (usually 28 or 30ga with between 12-14wrap dual coils) will make the eleaf fire a full 10v and deliver the best vape I've had. Don't get sucked into the super sub ohm for flavor/vape production hype. I did a year ago. You do not need dangerously low resistance coils for that. Hope that was of some help :)

Theres a different feeling with mechs, there not for everyone I will give you that. But all the people who never tried them they really dont understand they really do vape differently then a regulated mod

True the battery gets weaker as time goes by but its not like 5 hits, what happened? By the time the vape is unenjoyable youll be charging batteries at the same 3.5 or so volts you normally have to anyways

I vape at .6 in my dripper and its fine for a while my kayfun is.9 and I change batteties once a day.

Get a very cheap mech, nemesis is 15 bucks at fastech probably 20 stateside.
Drop that x on there at the same .3 And see if you dont go whoa cool.
with the unfiltered voltage drop I bet the tank will be just fine. As well.

I gave up regulated a while ago. Power on a mech is controlled by build not buttons and the simplicity just makes vaping way too pick up and go easy.

You can see a story in the apv forum right now where someone convinced themselves boxes killed mechs......until they bought one. and now they "get it"

really is a different vape you may not like it but 100's of peeps here will agree when I say dont knock it until youve at least tried it

I tell people if anything else if you dont like using it you at least have a nice indestructable backup in the drawer if needed in an emergency

And cmon now, what boxmod can match this sexy? Lol

I like my mech mods and my unregulated boxes, but I also really enjoy my Kanger-Tech KBOX. Will fire at .4 and has all the goodies for a reasonable price. I think I payed 35 plus tax. It's a 40 watt mod and fits nicely in the hand. It's a nice work mod, I run a freemax starre with the .5 coil. I'm not "chucking clouds", but it's a very sturdy setup. If you haven't already, check it out. I'd highly recommend it. Kanger KBOX MOD – KangerTech

I bought a kbox after I already had a regulated mod with fancy screen and plenty o buttons. the kbox was supposed to be a backup, but I ended up liking it so much it's now my main mod. I bought a second one for a backup lol.

I think for the price that mod does way more than you could ask for, it's solid and reliable. Like I said I only use mine at work mostly, but the craftsmanship speaks for itself. I think the price throws a lot of people off. It's worth every cent. They could still move them if they doubled the price if you ask me. Sure hope they don't, I'm getting tired of my black one, might have to pick up the SS!

Regulated devices have their place. Mechs have their place. I use both, but for different reasons. Tanks on my Invader Mini or VF Clone. Occasionally a dripper on my VF Clone if I'm testing new flavors and want to test a range of wattages. When driving, I use my Invader Mini or REO. Everywhere else I use a mech.
I don't notice a huge drop as the battery goes until the very end. I never build below 0.5ohms. Only thing I have below that is a stock nickel coil in my subtank. (Just got into the temp control thing)
Mechs are just a different vape. There are people who run tanks on mechs. I don't. The closest I come to that is my REO, but squonking is still mech for me.
If you have a good local B&M, check out a mech. Hold it. Fondle it (not too much, though...that could be a little weird). Talk to some people in person. If you think you're ready for it, do your homework and get one. I've heard the nemesis is a good place to start. I started with a paragon clone, then my REO, then my Gator Box, and then the SMPL (didn't get that until I fondled someone else's). If you don't like it, no harm, no fowl, trade it or sell it.

I have both a black and a silver. I prefer the black honestly. If you feel like picking up the silver, it's 20 bucks at vaporbeast. Or just keep an eye out for their new one coming out (tthe subox? I saw a thread on here earlier).

Literally, I never thought I'd get into mechs until I decided I wanted a stealthy mod that could handle my Troll RDA builds (about .15) I went out and picked up a Wotofo A-Mod SMPL, and as soon as I nailed it the first time, I realized that it's a whole new ball game. I got a scorching hot Vape out of my Sigelei 150 on this thing, on the SMPL, it's cool, more flavorful, and I swear to god above I get bigger clouds. I have 3 batteries anyways, so I can always switch out as soon as mine starts to drop off. I swear on my life that I told myself that mech mods weren't for me. Now, I want them all. Haha.

Dude, tell me the SMPL doesn't just feel right in your hand? Do you have a metal or rubbery version?
