Hello, my name is Shane. I just got back from my second deployment in Iraq (where I first learned about e-ciggs). I am in the Army reserves, on my second marriage, and have a 5yr old son from my first wife, and am attempting to become a LEO here in CT. I have 17 pack-years under my belt, and would like it to stay there. I do know that there is no proof that e-ciggs are healthy, I do feel that they are better than my Marlboro reds, if nothing more than tar, and wallet.

While overseas, a few of my friends tried electronic cigarettes. Each one of them went back to smoking real cigarettes within a month or two because it ended up being much easier to purchase the cheap smokes and carry a lighter than it was to carry the liquid, baggy (to keep dust out), and all the extra stuff, plus refilling them in the dust, or on the move became such a hassle it was just not enough reward for the effort.

That was the last I thought about E-ciggs till a few days ago when my wife shoved a package into my chest while I was pulling in to the gas station to pick up a pack of marbs.
I have been smoking "Cigotine" for a couple days, and while I understand that they might be overpriced, I do like the disposable cartomiser vs. a refillable cartridge. Smoking the "Cigotine" has dramatically decreased my urges to smoke analog cigarettes (from a pack a day to around 7 smokes a day).

The only reason I found this forum is because I was trying to find out more information on the "Cigotine" brand. Not much can be found aside from testimonials, and advertisements. In the past day or so, I have been reading up on all sorts of e-ciggs and whatnot because while I was using my "Cigotine" I started inhaling real smoke, not vapor, and it tasted like burnt sugar and newspaper. That made me start questioning the safety of the product altogether. The salesman told my wife that once the cartridge was empty, it would simply stop working, and that I would know because I wouldn't feel anything, as though I was just breathing though a tiny straw. So I never really knew when to stop, until I realized that I was inhaling real smoke, and started getting concerned as to how long I had been doing so.

Since my wife picked up the Deluxe starter kit with two batteries, a wall charger, USB charger, and five cartomisers, I'm wondering if anyone on here knows of a different brand that has disposable cartomisers that will fit the cigotine batteries? I'm looking for something with a somewhat realistic tobacco flavor, decent throat hit, and reputable quality.

Again, my name is Shane, those are my questions (mixed into the statements), and this concludes my intro post.

Thank you.

[...]The salesman told my wife [...]

... some crazy nonsense he made up on the spot, because he knows next to nothing about the product he is selling.

I've been searching, and can't find any info about compatibility of the cartridges. I'm sure they can be refilled, but if you vape them until you get a burnt taste, you went too far. Check in the V4L or the KR8 sub-forums, you're likely to find someone there that knows something about it.

Sure looks like a KR808 to me.

The cartomizers do NOT last 2 packs like I am sure they told you, and you can refill, or buy WAY cheaper cartos from Vapor For Life, as Quasimod posted before me.

KR808 has become the new rebranded favorite, as resellers mark up the cartos 200%, and tell people they don't have any option but to buy them from them.

e-cigs are a consumables market. MANY companies give away the batteries, as long as you sign a contract for the cartos. ALL the money in what you throw away. Those SAME prefilled cartos can be had for 6-8 bux a pack from many vendors in hundreds of flavors. They can also be refilled for about $2.00 for a pack of 5, depending on where the juice comes from.

If you want simple, easy, and cartomizers, V4L is great. Personally, I like the 510 with atty and cartridge, but there are cartomizers for the 510 as well.
LiteCigUSA.net, and V4L are both forum suppliers, and both have good service. So does Cignot. So does Nhaler. Really, all of the forum suppliers are just great. Check out this thread from DonDaBoomVape.

Glad you are back from your deployment. God bless you! (I hope that isn't offensive to you that I said so. Not everyone follows the same, or any, religion.)

So I'm trying to understand here, please bare with me...

I REALLY don't want to start refilling right now as my life is hectic as heck, and I often forget everything, or run out of time to do things... Based on the "two packs = one carto" statement, these are much cheaper than analogs ($15/3 cartos vs. $8 a pack), but if that isn't true, then I'm not really saving much if I decide to stay with these. Do you think that V4L prefilled cartos will be a cheaper route? I know the cheapest is currently refills and juice, but again, I'm way too much of a plug n' play guy right now, mainly because simplicity will help keep me away from analogs far better than TH, taste, or even price.... I don't want to tell my wife that she wasted a whole bunch of money on a product that we can't scavenge at least some of our losses from.

Another thing that would help "seal the deal" for me and e-ciggs, is a more realistic cigg flavor than the one that currently comes with it... Once I stop reaching for analogs, I'll be ready to try other flavors, but I still crave the feel and flavor of my reds (Today I only smoked 6, three days ago I was still at a PAD, I don't think I'm doing poorly).

Again thanks for all the help, I do want to get away from analogs for my son, tasting real foods again, not coughing all day, comments from others about the way I stink like smoke, and for any future I might have in law enforcement, so any more advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Hi Shane. I tested a kit from Bloog. They had a Marlboro Red flavor. I smoked Parliament (and Marlboro Lights at times) and the taste reminded me of Marlboro Red. Even if it was not named that I would have described it as tasting like strong Marlboros.

I'm very new to this (not even a full week) and don't know very much, but if Bloog has the Marlboro Red flavor I would think its available for filling cartridges. Or, that you can find pre-filled cartridges with it if they will fit your model.

The batteries on the cigotine seem pretty good, but I do tend to get some uneven draws from the unit, I don't know if that's battery, or cheap cartomisers?

Also, what batteries does "Blu" use? I'm only asking because I really like the style of the PCC they have, so if the batteries are the same, I'll grab it, if not, I'm not going to go out of my way for a PCC based solely on a style preference.

Thanks for the advice, links, and threads. I'm learning alot, and finding out just how much I don't know as well.

I was a little wary about refilling cartos and carts, thought that I wasn't gonna be able to do it or it was too much work! I watched a few youtube vids and realized its really easy! The way I look at it, the length of time it takes to Drive to a store, go in and pick up a pack (5 mins) I can refill 3-5 cartomizers (cap them and they will last) and am set for quite awhile! Besides they taste better because you choose what to fill them with :)
Good luck!

I strongly suggest heading over to the Blu sub forum before buying that product. I really doubt you want to go with it. Any 510 e-cig works with PCCs. You can get much more affordable 510s with manual batteries or autos if you prefer.

If the Blu PCC is the selling point, just buy it and use with a good 510 kit.

"Hectic as heck", that's one of the reasons I drip. The other reasons are abject laziness and the fact that I'm apparently not smart enough to get any of the cartridge mods to work. I've written a couple of posts about the subject, if you're interested just click the blog link over there under my avatar.

I don't remember the last time I refilled a cart. I grab my PV, extra atty, batts, and my modified ePump in the morning. That's it. Every few days, I squirt some more juice into the pump from my big bottle o juice. I drive an 18-speed truck all day, and I don't have the time or patience to mess around with refilling carts OR cartos.

Your mileage may vary. :)
