And here we believed all those anti-smoking activists when they insisted that their primary concern wasn't to stop adult smokers from lighting up, but to protect nonsmokers from the dangers of second-hand smoke. Based on the reaction to the e-cigarette, it is now clear that the exact opposite was true.

Now that the e-cig war has been exposed to the public in a major newspaper, watch for more dissenting views like this against these anti smoker groups like ASH.

And the mild Banzhaf swipe in the article, nice touch.

in a sense, going after cigarettes and smoking has been fertile ground for the anti-smoking groups. especially considering the amount of money they haul in from various sources. they too need new markets--or in these cases, issues--in order to survive. enter the pv and a new opportunity exists. but it could be different this time, especially if one argues on points of harm reduction, as the article does. in a way, the issue leaves them open to a host of image and public relations problems.

We should keep an eye on his website to see when he posts this piece and tries to take credit for it ;)
