I was browsing the hcigar site and saw this mod.

The Death mod.

A carved wooden sleeve around a brass tube and brass end caps. COmes with a wooden box.

And less than $30.

Only 18650. Brass tube (with wooden sleeve), brass caps (looks like aged brass) with some kind of accents, silver plated contacts, and what looks like stainless 510 threads.

It ain't too bad lookin'!

If not having a similar characteristic to some other MOD (as opposed to obviously copied 1:1 from another MOD) is what defines originality, than virtually no MOD can be called original. The only similarity between these two MODs is that they both have a wood sleeve. Otherwise they're completely different.

Ah look at the middle one, this was they're original that came out sometime end of last year or beginning of this year cant remember.
The skull is exactly the same.

Not saying the hcigar is pointless or anything, it looks like a mechanical which is the original quality of it, and would be an awesome piece

I love that the clone companies are now creating their own originals using what they have learned from the clones. I think there are going to be a number of nice mods/atties available from them with features and styling cues usually reserved for high end devices at an affordable cost and with no moral conflict whether to buy or not.

This happening on a large scale with good quality would be nice.
