Yes, this -- at least, not in prescription inhalers; it might still be present in those OTC ones. Apparently it's not used any longer in nebulizers either.
All this idiocy is why it would be a very bad idea to have vaping as a pharmaceutical product, and god forbid, by prescription only. When I asked my doctor about the nicotine inhalers, he informed me that because of my medical history with asthma, he was forbidden from prescribing me those nicotine inhalers, despite the fact that NOT prescribing them meant that I carried on smoking for 15+ more years. Very clearly, that restriction had nothing whatever to do with MY health, it was BP/AMA covering their derrieres.
