I've been smoking a new juice for a full day now and there is something that I don't quite understand. When I draw, there's a sensation across my tongue that I didn't experience with the prefilled cartos. Maybe this what they mean by "mouth feel?"

At any rate, it's kind of like a soft soap feeling - if you've ever worked with borax in water you'll know exactly the feel - only dry and there's no taste of soap, just the feel.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does it have something to do with the e-liquid brand, or the PG/VG ratio or the flavor? I'd like to avoid it in the future.

I don't know if I am experiencing what you are describing but I do get some sensation on my tongue from juices with higher PG ratios. It might be because PG tends to dehydrate you more and the feeling is it sort of "sucking" the moisture away from your tongue? I may just be talking out of my ... lol but that's just what I am guessing.

I did some more research on the PG/VG of the cartos/liquids I've used so far, after seeing that most of your suggestions (thank you!) give me an option to choose what I want there.

The eCOpure Rich that's giving me the odd sensation is 100% VG. (I've also noticed that this vapor seems to dissipate more slowly than the others.)
The original carto sample packs that came with my Volt are 100% PG.
The V4L carto sample packs I bought don't say and neither does their website.

Perhaps I'm one that won't do well with 100% VG juice? I don't know enough to even guess. There seems to be a lot of different PG/VG mixes available.

I'm trying to learn by reading, but it's all very confusing. How do you guys make that choice?

I find that the best vapes in terms of consistency with flavor and vape production are usually at an almost even pg/vg ratio. Most of the stuff I get is 50/50. Maybe try something at 60/40 pg/vg? Or, since you are still mainly using cartos, I would say something at like 70/30. And flavors change all the time. One day I love a certain flavor and the next day I don't taste it as much or it just tastes different. The best way to go about it is to switch things up, imo.

More pg = more flavor and throat hit. More vg = more vapor. But honestly, anything with around 30-35% vg has a very good amount of vapor already. The 50/50 is just my preferrence since I prefer a smoother throat hit and a ton of vapor while keeping the juice thin enough to run in my vivi nova. If I could run 100% VG without clogging up my nova I would be doing that. So if you find that the amount of VG is a problem for you then just try to find things with higher PG.
