Hello all,

I recently picked up a Kanger Emsart Starter kit along with several e liquids to try, but I am having some uncomfortable side effects and not sure what might be happning, or what I am doing wrong. Liquids have been steeped for about a week and half.

I purchased the following juices, all 0mg:

Dragonscape (NJOY Artist Col) 70vg / 30pg
Wake N' Vape (Epic Juice) 60vg / 40 pg
Dark Leaf Tobacco (Liquid Core) 70pg 30 vg)

Basically, when I vape I don't get any flavour from any of my juices. No taste at all. However, I can clearly smell the strong aroma of Dragonscape and Wake n' Vape in the room. I'm vaping like you would smoking a cigar - I slowly draw the vapour into my mouth, hold for between 1-2 seconds, before releasing. I'm not inhaling at all. I can only taste the juice by dropping a spot of it on my finger and licking that with my tongue, but not with the actual vapour.

Besides the no taste issue, I'm also experiencing a burning sensation, or tingling soreness that appears after about 10 minutes after I tried to vape (just taking a handfull of puffs of each e liquid). This is on my tongue, roof of mouth, and just a touch on my gum area. This disappears after a few days, but obviously it's very uncomfortable.

I'm not getting any dry hits, the vapour production is excellent, and draw feels nice and loose.

Background info: I'm an ex social cigar smoker who quit several years ago. Nothing heavy, just a hanfull of cigars a year in my early twenties. Decided to try vaping because I rather like the act of smoking but didn't enjoy the smell on clothes, mouth feel, and potential health issues down the line). vaping seemed like a safer alternative, since I'm not inhaling or using nicotine.

Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe a reaction flavourings or the pg/vg, but really have no idea.

Are you UK ZeroDash?

I bought the Gamucci version of the E-smart on Tuesday and whilst the vape is impressive, the taste is not marvellous. (I don't have the Kanger one...)

Those liquids don't need steeping, although most liquids improve with age/air etc.

Do you have previous experience at all?

I'll try a 1-2 second puff and see how it is. :)

"Maybe you 'steeped' the flavor out of them... "

I don't think I've over steeped the juices. About 30mins with cap off after shaking. Then cape on and put in cupboard. I tried all of the liquids unsteeped on day one first and then again a few days later after the burning sensation died down. No change.

Yup, same one that's on the POTV forum. Thought I'd post here just to get a boarder wave of views/replies.

How is the taste on your Esmart. Do you at least get subtle flavour without inhaling?

I'll give retrohaling a try later. Probably tomorrow because my mouth still feels uncomfortable from the wierd burning sensation.

Try drinking lots of liquid. I had similar issues. Vaping dried up my mouth and senses. So if the color of your liquid and smell is there, it might be that. Strong food flavors also numb the mouth. Water next to you as you VAPE. I go through 2-3 liters of water a day…. try that. The tingling and soreness is probably from dryness… give it a go and see…

Could be a sensitivity/allergy to something in the juice too. Some folks are PG sensitive, like me. If I vape anything over 30%PG I get a dry, scratchy, sore throat, burning kinda thing. Could be a flavoring in the juice too. Those lil clearos are bad about spitting in your maouth. Are you getting a few drops in your mouth when you puff on it? That could be it. Too many possible causes, but there's a load of info here. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will find it.

Thanks for help. Been putting the advise into practice and slowly seem to be eliminating possibilities :)

Hmm, just tried retrohaling and inhaling. Still no flavour. The aroma though, through my nasal passages is nice and intense. I also feel the vapour at the back of my throught as I inhale, along with what can only be described as 'smell' sensation there as well, but no taste on the tongue.

Maybe it's those small clearos that simply aren't giving me any flavour. Shame if that's the case because the kit works well in other respects and is nice and portable.

The burning sensation didn't seem to get anyworse when vaping Dragonscape just now, which I'm thankfull for. I did draw on the PV a little more gently this time just in case of spitbacks. I did notice that I wasn't getting an hot sensation on my tongue this time, just warm vapour. I'll try with the Dark Leaf next, just in case it's PG or NET related issues. I belive Liquid Core tobacco's use partial natural extraction for their tobaccos, with the rest being added flavourings.

I have vaped (ooh, 10 + 10 + 30ml) - a bit of Dark Leaf.
It's not a particularly strong flavour......

Nice! :)

My tanks are bottom coil, so they might not be the same. Anyway, even with some basic tobacco liquid, there is certainly some flavour. Trying not to inhale is kid of a challenge for me!
