Well Remie, you have good reason to be cranky! I would post that on the suppliers review thread so others know. It's just wrong and there's too many suppliers that need and want our business!

Good job...no analogs since Saturday night!!! I've had a couple a day, but not really because I NEEDED them, more that I wanted them. I think that's amazing!!

I don't think its a good idea to use them on a desktop, either - self-powered hubs are not exactly expensive, power units for computers are. (I paid about 15 Euros for mine, and that is a 7-port brand-name one. Online, they are even cheaper.)
That's because I had a lot of problems with a USB ventilator. It did not damage anything, but when I used it, most of my ports refused to work, requiring a restart of the computer.

However, on such a hub, a PT is great.

Let me say first, I am sure that there are people who are far more knowledgeable about electronics here.

Using a PT (or any other USB-powered device) on a self-powered hub is perfectly OK.

As for chargers, usually it is recommended that they are removed from power when nothing is being charged. However, that goes for all electronic equiptment, and who ever does that? I don't, and neither do people I know who know a lot more about electronics than I do. Only exception, and that is nothing I ever had with anything vaping-related, are things that get warm when they are not even working on anything.

Besides, I have a 510 - so what is an empty charger? :D

hahah!! I just ordered another 510 starter kit from cignot for that same reason - it shipped out today.

I am getting what I consider to be really good battery life (compared to what I've read on here) and it could be that my perception is still very new - AND - I am not reflexive yet on the subtle signs that my battery power is low. I tend to suck on one for at least 3 hours...

then it occurs to me that I'm not getting good vapor, etc.

 wow - I re-read that one sentence up there and it sounds dirty, but I am not going to edit it. Just because :p rofl

Yeah, mine last about the same amount of time. Two of my manual batteries blink and then die when they need charging. The automatic just slowly vapes less. Weird.

LOL I think I better be careful posting until I get over my withdrawal mood. Going back and rereading some of my posts is embarrassing! No wonder I get few replies. Meh

Hiya Remie,
I too ordered my first e-cig starter kit on Sunday night. I've been trying to read all I can from the boards on how to clean and care for my new Joye 510 but I have to admit... it's a little confusing. Still, I'll give it a try and I'm really hoping that vaping is for me!

Mets

Hi Mets!
Congrats on taking the plunge! I was confused as well. I promise, once it's in your hands, everything you've read will fall into place. You have an edge on anyone that didn't do as much reading! Plus, if you have any questions at all, there is always someone here that will get right back to you with an answer.

I think you are going to really like it! I was hoping and praying that I'd take to it because I've been wanting to quit smoking for a long time...

This is working - and - I'm really liking it!

Make sure to keep us posted and report back when you get it and try it!

We should start a club, I also ordered my first Joye 510 Sunday night (ok really it was 1:30 am but I hadn't gone to sleep yet so it was still Sunday to me. :) )

I have been reading everything and already putting more orders together and I am still waiting for my first kit. lol

 Yay!! You're going to like it :) I hope you keep posting and let us know what you think, how it's working for you, etc. :)

Thanks.

I have a really good feeling about this.
It is the first time I have been excited about even the thought of quitting. So I think that is a step in the right direction anyway.

Alex, do you think the stigma is as bad in Germany as it is in California? Here if you smoke you better be a closet smoker or people will treat you like a non-human. I've lost friends and found myself wanting to stay home just so I didn't have to deal with all the self-righteous nuts that have invaded Calif! I'm a native and I can tell you it's not the natives that have ruined this state!!!

I cannot, of course, say anything about the situation in California. Here too it is however entirely possible to get attacked (verbaly) on the street by a Health Nazi who whines at you that you are killing them, smoking on the other side of the street. And quite a few people feel that they can look down on you. On the other hand, since those are exactly the kind of people I can't stand anyway, I don't exactly miss their company. Heck, if any of those wanted to get close to me, I'd probably puff away an analog if that is what it would take to get rid of them.

Then again, for some reason I can indeed not quite fathom, that sort of people attacks and annoys other people, but not me. And as I am a quite mild-mannered person with the most imposing height of 5"3' and not particularly threatening looks, I don't actually know why I am safe from them. Gotta be their survival instinct, or something.

igaday, congratulations and welcome to the vaping world!!! One good thing is that we are ALL new at this and wanting to make a positive change in our life and habit.

Vapor4Life seems to be a subculture all in of itself and a very supportive group of people.

It's nice that your first post was on this thread and I thinks some great friendships are about to be made!

I just got it in and tried it. I do love it! I only got tobacco flavored ones, so now I will have to get some flavors. Thanks for welcoming me. I will need much assistance. I do not know anyone personally who owns one, but I will be trying to convince all of my friends how fabulous they are. That puts me in two situations, the first, not having someone to go to (thank god for the forum) and the second needing to know alot to sell my friends on it. I'm gonna let the product do the talking, and just let them try it. I'm loving the forum, brand new, so it will take me some time to make some connections and what not. Thanks for the encouragement.

Hello Igaday! Congrats on the decision to join the vaping world! :) Today is my first full day of vaping and I am seriously enamored with the entire process! I haven't had an analog yet, and I won't beat myself up if I end up needing/wanting/giving in to the craving.

There is a learning curve for sure, but this is such a welcoming and awesome community, there is always someone right here to answer any questions. Added bonus - what an amazing bunch of people here! I have felt supported from my first post and it just keeps getting better.

Allie - after I read your post I had a huge *Ohhhh!* moment! Since last evening when I got started with my 510 I have been rather neglectful of the fact that it is electronic. I haven't been swapping out the battery nearly often enough, nor have I been paying much attention to the juice in the cart!

I have the manual batteries, and for as many hours as I've been using either of them, they have not blinked or tipped me off that they are in need of charging - they haven't died - the vaping has just gone weak!

At the same time, I realized it's true for the juice in the cart as well. When I became aware that I need to swap the battery, add a few drops to the cart (and atty when I refill or change carts) - renewed flavor, clouds of vapor, and instant reward.

I am doing the "straw mod" and I believe it does give me added vapor. I am not positive though because when I switched to the 18mg pre-filled menthol cart (26mg juice is what I have and I am sucking on this thing like crazy right now - really don't care to get a nic-headache) I am getting really good vapor, satisfying draw TH, etc. Learning curve.

I can't really taste the cappuccino or chocolate (dead taste buds perhaps?) juice, but I can smell it, and it smells good.

Also, I do believe the Double Mint and Eco Pure menthol does leave the atty tasting like mint, so maybe I will clean one tonight and experiment tomorrow with a "dedicated menthol/mint atty".

I have loads of Lipton Tea in the Pyramid bags! If you aren't a tea drinker and don't care to hunt them down in your area, PM me your address - I will send you a bunch, or a box so you can try the mod!

I am pretty happy with the straw mod and pre-filled carts for now as I await Ms. T's to ship my order. I placed the order on Wednesday and I am surprised it still hasn't shipped :( I really hope I don't run out of juice!!

Good going on the WW!! You can do it!! As far as being a closet smoker, I've always been such a rebel without a clue, I really don't care who I have offended with my dirty habit  - and being a musician doesn't help as most people do much worse than smoke cigarettes. I rarely drink, or do anything else - smoking was *my* one awful vice... so I am expecting a lot of people this week to ask me what the heck I'm smoking

Since I am around children (music school) and pleasing the parents/good clean image, etc. is paramount. I won't be using my PV around anyone there!
It is great though, to sit here next to my fireplace puffing my face off - and there is no residual smell, etc.

Learning Curve - hahaha!! I'll get there :D

Thank you for the welcome. I got it and love it! This technology is fantastic. I will be using the forum a lot because as of now, I do not know anyone else who has this. I hope to change that. My husband is out in Afganistan, maybe I should buy a kit and send it to him. I also want to buy my mom one, but she's 62 and swears she's not interested. I may hand mine down to her one day as I get newer batteries and stuff. Anyways, thanks, and congrats to you too.

Hi Annie!

hahah - I'm still so new to this myself! I'm learning here with everyone else :)
I'm still reading the forum like a mad-woman too!

Instead of ordering just spare parts (extra atomizers or batteries) I just went ahead and ordered another basic 510 kit from cignot. It just seemed cheaper overall ($35.00 for 2 complete cigs, plus charger and 5 pre-filled carts).

So, when that arrives, I'll have 4 complete 510s, the PCC (which is working great, I like it!), and 2 wall chargers. I probably won't even put the new ones into rotation until I feel I need to. I am doing just fine with the 2 that came with my initial starter kit!

The batteries seem to last a long time, longer than I thought they would.

I've gotten the hang of topping off the carts, refilling the carts and both attys are working fine as well.

I think you'll do fine when your kit arrives! I'll probably be asking *you* questions!! :)

Your kit should be arriving soon, right? Mine got here in 4 days! I thought that was surprisingly fast.

Keep me posted! :)

Remie, I apologize for giving you bad advice and getting you attacked. :(

Allie! omg - I just saw this post! You did not give me bad advice, nor did you get me attacked :)

It's all good! No worries, seriously!

How are you doing today? I had so much work to catch up on, I feel as if I was on the phone and writing all day :(

But! now I am back in bag-lady mode

And - I feel exhausted, but not as cranky, but that could change at any moment
