Welcome to the forum. Long slow drags of 5 seconds or so will always give you the best results. That burnt taste means that the atomizer is not wet enough. dripping two to three drops will last about 5 inhales, but if you are getting that taste, you need to drip more often. A cartridge mod will be a definite improvement over the stock filler.

Hey there, welcome to ECF!

You do have to "smoke" an e-cig a little differently from a real cigarette. I have to take long drags to get good vapor out of my Kr8, and every video I've ever seen of someone vaping and getting good vapor, they're taking longer drags.

How many drops are you putting on the atty? Most people seem to get 10-15 drags when they drip.

Welcome, and yes to above...Dripping for new attys is a must...Think of it as a break-in period...especially if you are getting that nasty machine oil taste at the beginning...For me, I drip 3 drops at the beginning for every new atty and have a filled cart for both my 510 and Ego....If the bad taste is still there after a few drags, then I put another drop into the atty...etc...etc...untill my PV works and taste good...Again Welcome....
and of course Enjoy the Adventure...

Welcome betterrun!

The easiest thing you can do is the highping cart mod; it takes about 10 seconds. You'll get the burnt taste whenever your atty is too dry. The highping cart mod allows you to put more juice in the cart, so that it wicks more easily to the atty. As paul said, add a couple of drops of juice to your atty when needed. If it floods (gurgling sound), blow a little juice out of the atty and try it again. You'll be an expert in no time.

Agree about Highping's.

The straw mod does not address the fundamental problem of fillers...the filler material taking up too much space in the cart and holding on to too much juice, and not wicking it to atty properly. The straw is there mainly to create a vent for easier refilling.

Highping's is the simplest mod (takes less than 10 seconds), you don't need anything else, and I have not had problems with flooding or leakage yet. There are others that work well (not the straw mod), but this one is just too simple to not use...and it works.

Hope that helps!

Cool thanks for the info! Hey does any one know can you use any 510 batt and atty from diff ecig sellers? Like if you have a Batt from AV and a atty from TW they should work ok right?
Yup. In the case of TW, I believe their 510 is called the Titan. Some stores do have branded names for the 510, but many just use the model number.

When the time comes I recommend reading PureVapor's Guide to DIY Flavoring.

You may want to bookmark it so you have it handy when you decide to wander into a new and wonderful world of flavor! :D As with most things you can do it simply and have okay liquid or you can study and practice and make some outstanding flavors better than any vendors sell. Any you can recreate nearly any flavors you want. For several months I've been working on making the best milk chocolate and it's been a lot of fun. I've come up with some great chocolates but still not the one I'm trying for.

So the future is bright and you're entering a delightfully creative journey. I can tell you'll love it! :D
