Hi guys,

Loving the whole vaping experience, but have found that I am getting very itchy skin (I am assuming that this is causing it as I haven't changed anything else), seems to be in random places, might be face, legs etc etc.

Does anyone have any advice on this? Haven't smoked a rollie in over a week now, but don't really want to be scratching all the time!!!

Thanks in advance :)

It could be the withdrawls, try a higher nic level and that will help with the withdrawls.

It could also be that you are allergic to PG or VG. What juice do you use and what PG/VG ratio? I recommend trying an all PG juice and an all VG juice and see if that helps. If one makes you really itchy then you might be allergic and need to uses juice with the other base

Hiya, I am using 11 mg juice that I have bought from Totally Wicked, looked on the bottle and can't seem to see whether it is PG / VG. Having read more this seems to be quite low, although I wasn't a very heavy smoker to start with (5 ish rollies a day)

I think i'm right (quite possiblt not) in saying PG is what they use in asthma inahlers, and I've never had a reaction when using my inhaler, so I would hope it isn't that.

Presume if it is a withdrawal thing it will sort itself out after a while?

Again a huge thanks to the helpful people on here :)

Vaping is drying. You need to drink fluids.

Nicotine is a skin irritant. If you get any liquid on your hands, wash your hands. Because it may not bother your hands but if you touch your face or other tender skin it will cause dryness and irritation.

It's necessary to smell the vapor to get the full flavor but don't over it or you could get dry patches. If Vapor is being blown back on you a lot, that could cause irritation.

If you are using extreme nicotine or nicotine in 100% PG, those are most irritating. But juices with some VG in them. I recommend 80PG/20VG which is still thin enough to work easily in cartomizers.

Totally wicked's juices are pretty much exlusively PG.

It could be a threshold thing. You don't take as much PG in using an inhaler (I assume) and with you vaping PG more is getting into your system and you're reaching your threshold for PG tolerance.

I found I was getting very itchy when I was using totally wicked's liquids too. I found out it wasn't totally wicked's liquids especially, it was that I'm intolerant to PG rather than allergic (kinda, lol). If I vape a lot of PG I'll get itchy, if I keep vaping I'll get rashes, if I keep vaping I'll get hot flashes... then I stop vaping so I don't know what happens next.

I tried out VG liquids and that has indeed solved the problem for me. I make my own now but before then I used to order from either liberty flights who have an alright VG selection and kev's site FreedomVape Online Store - Items - FreedomVape (UK) which has a more extensive VG option with free shipping! Good times, right? Might be worth a shot to use VG for a while and see how it goes.

Hey MelB,
The same thing happened to me. It started as the itchies, then progressed to what I'm guessing are hives. Of course I didn't react to the samples I got, only after I bought 30 mls of my favorite flavor....:glare: I didn't have a reaction to some other PG/VG juice that I have, and I was told that not all PG bases are created equal.
So being a broke college student, I've been suffering until payday, which was Friday. So about 2 weeks of on-and-off hives. I ordered some PG-free juice, but it hasn't gotten here yet.
Anyways, my word of advice: If you start to notice bumbs on your skin or if your skin burns because you're not scratching it, try another supplier or VG-based juice.

Good Luck,
Kallie

Like Cyberpixie, I had the same experience. I'd say it started a week or so after I quit tobacco altogether and subsided after about 1.5-2 weeks. I think it may have to do with some of the other chems in tobacco leaving your system or something. I found myself itching all over in random places. Sometimes a leg, other times my back, etc. I even had trouble sleeping while I had this, since everytime I started to doze I'd get an itch somewhere. Give yourself some time and see how it goes. If it turns to hives like in KalNoodle's case, I'd think that'd almost certainly be an indication of an allergic reaction. If is doesn't and goes away in another week you should be good to go.
