I have been lurking while doing research on e-cigarettes, so I know many of your names but haven't bothered to introduce myself.

I am a mother of 4 beautiful children who have never been exposed to second hand smoke at home. My husband and I were both very careful to instill that smoking analog cigarettes is harmful to your health in many ways and is a horrible choice to make that is hard to undo later in life.
Hopefully they will learn from our mistake and never start smoking.

My smoking story- I quit each and every time I was expecting but the lure of cigarettes kept pulling me back. My father died of lung cancer that he insisted was from smoking tobacco cigarettes for 30 years, and my brothers and I all vowed to quit for good. They quit sooner than I did, probably because I had a smoking husband and less social pressure to quit. I did quit successfully for about a year at a time several times, and each time was harder. I have been cigarette free for a few months now and again I miss the feeling and the ritual of a cigarette in my hands. Even though it meant going outdoors in below zero temperatures, I miss it.
This time I am not going to give in to my unhealthy desires.

I decided to go cheap to get the feeling before dumping a considerable sum into the hobby, so I placed an order from China, then found what will certainly be a better model (according to trials from those who seem knowledgeable on this forum) which will come sooner because it was more local to me.
I ordered non nicotine ecigs to keep up with the freedom from nicotine that I have won.

I want to thank those members who posted to the 'how to' section with instructions to make your own non-nic liquids. I feel prepared for my first PV experience.
Within a few days, I will have my first PV and can 'pretend to smoke' without undoing the hard work keeping my vow to my father's memory.

Thanks for reading and getting to know me a bit, and thanks for the information I have been reading for awhile now,

good luck sweety. It took me about a week to totally get off analogs. Now i am just vaping 100%. I was a 1-2 pack a day smoker. Light analogs. I have found that i am vaping quite a bit (about 100 dops of juice or around 5 or so cartomizers. I started with an 11mg nic level and found it was not enough. I bumped it up to 16 and got one 24mg version to see if that would put me over the edge and so far so good. I use the 24 at work where the temptations are greater since i work in a casino, a 16 here and there if i'm at home, or if i'm at the computer or lounging around I pop in the 11mg because i'm chain vaping. After you've vaped going back to analog is pretty nasty tasting and stinky, Although it doesn't bother me when I'm around smokers. Anyway good luck.

Thanks for the welcome.
Like many other new members, I have to admit to being so anxious for my new toys to arrive I am daydreaming about what flavors of DIY liquid I will make first. I even bought a bottle of VG and started looking at my spice rack for a proper flavoring to work with, along with buying a bottle of Loranns to try.
My husband is tiring of what he has deemed my 'new obsession' already, but I bet once the PV's arrive he will be interested again. He drives OTR in a semi, so he has had a really really hard time giving up smoking and would probably use a PV more than I would.

I got a new one coming tomorrow too. I'm not as excited as you Breezee since I've been doing this for a while and it's just a new one for my collection. But I did feel the same as you back when I got my first one. You should pick up a bottle of juice with some nic in it and let your husband give it a try. He may find it as easy to quit smoking as I did 8 months ago using these.

Oh, we're both off nicotine now, but the reason we keep going back is the physical habit.
You just can't quit properly when you are craving that cigarette for months and months.
I don't suppose I will ever consider myself a 'nonsmoker' as much as a recovering smoker (or maybe now a vaper).

As to hubby, he doesn't know I got an extra for him, he can have the smoke flavored cartridges that come with the sets, and I plan to use the 'candy flavors' myself.

I am just like an impatient kid.
The PVs came today and I had to play with them before putting one on the charger.
I guess I can claim I was getting the 'primer' out of the atty but in reality I was just too hyped to leave it alone for 8 whole hours while it charged.
Hope I don't do damage to the battery I played with while the other was on the charger- if so I guess the better one will be hubby's since he is on the road and will need it more.

BTW glowing endorsement for Choice Vapor.com for bending to my request in the comments box to send low or no nicotine for the starter pack.

Never thought he would but hubby was willing to try the PV I got for him.
He says it really is helping him get over the cravings even with no nicotine.
Within an hour he was telling his friend (fellow truck driver who was just diagonsed with COPD and is having trouble quitting smoking) all about the PVs.
I may have made 2 converts already.
