Thanks everyone <3
So my purple original mini ships today. Love the classies. And since I seem so enthralled with the reo, I ordered two rm2's, some parts and acessories, and a black and white mini :p

I really think the reo is what I've been looking for in vaping. I do love the pv's that i have, and travel with an ego, yah just a little crappy ego, but it serves me well in the car. But I'm tired of all the coil tinkering. So I'll probably sell off some of my pv's to recoup all they money i just spent LOL The rm2's do seem MUCH easier to recoil, no messing with the tiny rubber stopper and what not.

I hate being a little nooblet LOL.

Sounds like you are all set with great REO's! Do you have the batteries? You will need 14500 for the Mini and 18490 for the Mini 2.1. Of course AW IMR are the recommended battery!

Hi Miarose,

You will be very content with your mini's and rm2's. The atty's work great too, so maybe buy one or two to hold you over while you learn to make micro coils. You can vape one, while building on the other.

I too started my rebuilding journey with protank heads and the rm2 is 1000x easier. Once you get a few coils under your belt, you'll wonder why you were so hesitant. Practice makes perfect and micro coils are probably the easiest type of coil to make.

I would suggest boiling the cotton, I did a whole bag with 3 - 15min boils with a rinse and press in between, lay them out over night on some paper towels and you should be set for life. Also with cotton, less is more, it will swell up quite a bit, so finding that happy medium where you have just enough cotton to swell and fill the inside of the coil, but not too much to where you have more cotton than juice.

I have a feeling that your protank rebuilds probably had hots spots on the coil. This gives that acrid, burnt kinda taste, so if that is what you were experiencing, rest assured, you will not get that with micro coils. Hot spots are way easier to fix on a micro then on a standard coil.

So welcome, and if you have ANY problems or issues feel free to ask, us reonauts have nothing better to do than to offer a helping hand.

thanks so much :) it actually isn't an acrid taste, its like, smokey? hard to explain, it's just not good, and not vapeable LOl From the videos and threads, it seems very easy to make the coils for rm2's, then just thread the cotton through. So essentially I can keep the coil, and replace the cotton? I'm just so picky about taste. But, I've invested a ton of money over the past two days, so here goes nothing!! Lol

Just swap wicks, do a quick dry burn on the coil and put the new wick in. If cotton doesn't work for you, fellow member matthee, uses silica in his micro's. I believe he pulls a couple strands off a 3mm section and uses a length of kanthal to pull the silica through the coil. He has pictures illustrating the step by step somewhere on here.

I am using XC-132 on a 5/64 coil. (Not exactly a mini, 1/64th off on ID.) The XC threads in the coil just perfectly.

Welcome, Miarose :)
I never could adapt to cartos either...and with the REO, that's great...each to his/her own. What works well for one person may not for another. Before I started using RBAs I was rather fond of the Cisco 306s and JoyeTech 510 (gold band). Any 510 or 306 atomizer with a hole through the center post will work. There will be a small learning curve, but it's relatively easy to get past and get it set the way you like it. I am hands down one of the laziest vapers out there, and that is precisely why I love my Reos. Can't wait to see it!

ETA: And now that I've read the rest of the thread... I'm sure you'll enjoy the RM2 once you get it set up.

I tried factory attys and couldn't get a decent vape. Gave up the first day. Stuck with 1.7 ohm shorty stainless cartos. I thought they worked great - used em for about 4 months then got my first RBA and have never put a carto back on a REO.

Wait - Actually I put one on a few months back when I was making my "REO Grand getting started video" to demonstrate how to use em. It vaped so lame it was embarrassing. I cut that part completely out of the movie.

The difference an RBA makes is epic.

Hahah Yessss, that is exactly how i feel. I did buy a few of the attys from the site. I didn't want to end up missing anything and figure i can sell/trade/pif anything that I don't end up using :)

I have a side question that I'm sure someone will be able to answer ;) Are all reosmods.com packages shipped with the signature confirmation? I work 12 hour midnight shifts, so that's kind of yucky for me if so. My mail man is cool with my vapemail though, so i guess it'd only be a day later that I'd get it, but still. I'm very impatient!

Yes, all REO's come that way.

You can pick up a slip from the P.O or mail man so you can sign for it before it comes. Just sign and put it in your box on delivery day.

Seems all your questions have been answered, Mia. So, all I can say is - Congrats and please keep us updated with pics and how you find the vape. And tell us about your coil building experience. BTW, if you had send a pm to redeyedancer (owner of Reosmods) he would have sorted you with a pink one - have actually seen one on the forum and it's awesome. Anyhow, maybe your next one!

got my purple mini from the classies today! it's so cute. haha.my rm2's and my other reo haven't come yet, but look liek they're supposed to be today?
I tossed an atty on it, and it's working fine. My only issue is the button seems hard to press. It seems i don't have to depress it all the way, and I'm hoping that's the correct way to work it Lol. There just feels like a lot of resistance.
