Missour-ah :p
I have the eGo 510, it's a few years old and its gone back and forth between use and neglect.
Most of the times it earned its neglect was from a barely avoidable burnt flavor, and my lack of patience for trying to fuss with it.
I'll admit that I didn't know to take better care of the atomizers, so I'm not going to totally blame them.

I am totally fine in continuing to use my eGo batteries, and I've read that the twist is pretty cool. A friend told me I must get some mini vivi novas, but I've seen a lot of people have issues with them on here... and I read the thread about people posting their eGo set-ups and I was still pretty lost.

I really want something that lasts forever, can take a beating, I can buy some extra parts/backup stuff.

I saw someone else post these questions, I thought it would be helpful.

1. How many cigarettes did you smoke or are currently smoking per day? A number is very helpful since my idea of a heavy or casual smoker could be very different from yours.
"Non smoker", actually. I can't do tobacco, I use my e-cig to des-stress, enjoy flavors and try different juices.

2. Did you smoke ultra lights, lights, full flavor, filter-less, roll-your-own or cigars?
-

3. How important is it for your electronic cigarette (also called a mod, PV or APV) to look like and feel like a cigarette to you?
Not at all

3. Do you like things big, bulky and durable or do you prefer small and compact?
Quality c:

4. Which shape is more pleasing to you to hold: something cylindrical or a box shape?
Cylindrical

5.How long would you like or need the batteries to last in a typical day.For some this an 8 hour shift or could be 16 or more hours depending on your lifestyle.
Better than the blu cigarettes I started off with haha!

6. How much effort do you want to put into vaping? Do you want something that requires little effort or are you more of a tinkerer? Generally extremely active lifestyles or someone who's constantly on the go doesn't have a lot of time but the reverse could be true for you as well.
I want something that is ready to go, requires little upkeep, and what upkeep it needs I know ahead of time before I ruin something :p I don't mind some tinkering, but even after reading through the forums and descriptions etc, I still feel lost about whats what.

7.Do you think you would prefer tobacco, menthol, fruit and candy or dessert flavors?
Tobacco and fruity

8.Do you think you would like a warmer or a cooler vape? (A warm vape uses higher voltage or lower resistances to make the vapor warmer in your mouth while a cool vape works just the opposite) Also let us know if you have sensitivities to cold or an aversion to hot liquids.
I'd preeeffferrr cooler, but it's not important.

9. What is more important to you, throat hit (that feeling of weight or tickle hitting the back of your throat when you inhale) , vapor production (the amount of vapor or steam produced by your device and/or e-liquid) orflavor(The intensity of the taste of the vapor)? Again its okay to have more than one answer but please list them in order of importance.
Vapor (I know 100% vg juices are gunky but theres something about them that I love) then flavor.

10.Which is more important to you, price, quality, ease of use, or reliability? Its okay to have more than one answer just list them in order of importance.
Quality, then ease

11.How much are you looking to spend on your initial purchase or upgrade?
I'll consider anything under $200ish

12. Have you looked at any other accessories such as clearomizers, cartomizers, tanks, pre-filled cartidges etc and do you have any questions about how they work or what they are?
Total noob here. :( I don't like or want cartridges, I'd like to have something that stores liquid and doesn't require dripping.

13. Would you feel more comfortable vaping (popular term used to refer to inhaling vapor from an electronic cigarette, mod, PV or APV) in public or do you prefer to do it in private?
Either

14. Whats your favorite color?
Browns, bright blue, and black

15. Do you have any disabilities or other difficulties that might have a bearing on your choice? ex: some peoples wrists aren't strong enough to hold a big battery mod or their eyesight doesnt allow easy filling of ejuice (the liquid containing nicotine and flavoring used in electronic cigarettes, also referred to as nicquid or e-liquid)
No

16. Have you thought about securing backup devices in the event of failure or purchasing extra batteries?
I plan on it!

17. Do you think you would prefer a battery that starts at 3.7 volts and gradually drops in voltage and vapor production as it drains or would you prefer the voltage to stay the same throughout the life of the battery?
I would prefer it to stay the same

Seriously thank you all so much, I feel like a total noob and I really really appreciate it <3<3<3

For Batteries I'd suggest either the eGo-c 'upgrade' batt or the eGo-c Twist.

The eGo-c 'upgrade' batt has two modes - one is a constant 3.3-3.4V mode and the other is around 4.2v off the charger, leveling to about 3.6-3.7v for most of the charge, dropping toward 3.2v near the end of the charge. Unless you have a real strong flavor like coffee or some strong tobacco - this would do well for you (depending on the ohms in the atty/carto/clearo) and the constant 3.3v mode would be good with any fruit flavors (using a standard ohm atty (2.0 - 2.5ohms) or a bit above that.

The Twist a bit longer than any regular eGo batt, offers a variable volt batt from 3.2v to 4.8v. This would be nice if you have a really strong tobacco flavor as well as a fruit flavor - but I'd still get two of each batt no matter what you choose.

As far as attys, cartos, clearomizers.... there are generally two types - one standard ohm and you can buy what ohms you want on the unit. So you have say a vision stardust (make sure whatever you get has the 'eGo connection' where you have a 'skirt that goes down over the battery connection) ....anyway you can buy a vision stardust that has a built in coil OR you can get 'coil changeable' types. This is also true of the CE4's (standard) vs. the CE5 (coil changeable). Also available in coil changeable form are the CC Carto and the Tabac BCC.

Less fuss are the standard types, but in the end a bit more expensive because you're buying the whole unit each time you replace one. With the coil changeable type you're buying just the different coil units and keeping the body the same. Although the coil changeable types aren't that hard to do - it isn't like you have to 'rebuild' the coil and wicking - you just unscrew the coil unit and replace it with another. Again - the standard type come in different ohm ratings so for the tobacco you might want something from 1.8 ohms to 2.2 ohms. For the fruit - 2.2-2.8 ohms.

I'll list some possibles and these are available from several vendors - I'm just listing these because I know where to find them to show you what they look like and give you an idea of the price... The ones from heaven gifts are china so shipping will be a consideration.... also note that the ones from heaven gifts are 5 piece sets for both the clearo and the coil units.

Yeah what Kent said :) -- plus:

An Ego Twist with a Kanger T3 (Tabac BCC) head seems a good idea as you seemed to answer Q3 with 'prefer a compact solution' - unless I misread that.

If you want it fancier then the new Akston Hughes SL with the same head (or any other clearo) is probably a good choice: it's a very well designed 3-setting VV APV that is slim and compact, and a sort of bronzy gunmetal brown colour that seems to align with your needs and preferences. Uses two 16340 cells. Has the eGo 2-thread connector as standard so it takes any clearo.

If you choose the SL, keep in mind you'll need 4 batts plus a charger.
