Another simple question. Do contacts need cleaning?

In mech mods do the contacts need to be cleaned now and then? Although I'm fitting fresh batteries the power seems to be lower now than when they were new, the contacts do look a bit dirty should I clean them and what with?

Yes they need cleaned, you might get lots of suggestions and it depends on the material, but a metal cleaner will do an adequate job on any type of contacts.

Alcohol and Q-Tips are your friend

The easiest thing to do is get your hands on some isopropyl alcohol, if you don't have any you can get some at CVS for a couple box, then as the other guy said get your hands on some q-tips or if you don't have any use a paper towel. Clean the surface back and forth and when you see a black and green Ish color coming off, you're doing it right.... Hope that helps!

Yes the inside of your mod should be cleaned, everytime you remove the battery, after any time you have a ejuice leakage event, and just because. The threads on you mods and atomizers, should be cleaned BEFORE and after, they are threaded to anything.

Electronics technicians use pencil erasers for mild corrosion and rubbing alcohol on a q-tip for dirt and residue.

I clean my contacts with DeOxit and then apply DeOxit gold for protection.

I work on circuits, avoid WD30, alcohol can promote pitting on stainless steel.
I only use DeOxit or Tuner cleaner.
Avoid anything with a VOC Rating since Organic compounds will produce unintended bridging. Read 'shorts'..
