I had a SERIOUS situation to deal with back in March this year .... (wife had a Cardiac Arrest in the Bathroom) ...by the Grace of God I "got her back" with some SERIOUS chest Beating (I cracked two of her Ribs) & CPR until the para medics arrived.. up to that point I was Smoking 30 a day .. & with the Stress of THAT ^^^^^ I went right up to 50+ a day !!!!! ...

I had already "Agreed" to only smoke in the Garage (detached thing about 50 Feet from the House) ... but obviously when Marie (wife) came home she needed 24/7 attention & going into the garage fer a quick Cig was out of the question ..... so i took up "vaping" .. & NEVER LOOKED BACK!!! ......

I think the Anxiety side of things came to the fore during her Hospitalisation ("Had I caused this" / "Was it all MY fault" / had I killed my wife of nearly 40 Years"!!!).......the answer is obviously NO!!! .. but hell it didn't stop the feelings.........I felt VERY VERY "Alone" especially at night (it was Dark / Quiet & there was "Only ME" to cope with "This" if she had another "attack") .....

Then I found THIS web Forum & obviously its "World Wide"...... so when the UK is Asleep the USA is awake I found I could "open Up" to some VERY understanding Members on here who "were there for me" & I quickly learnt I was NOT alone & we discussed things on hundreds of subjects & my anxiety lessened ..........

My advise toyou is ... if EVER you feel you need to "Talk" or feel the need to "hear a friendly "Voice" to take away the Anxiety you feel" you could do NO BETTER than Post a thread on here & just "CHAT" ....... you would SERIOUSLY be amazed at the depth of Feeling & Knowledge members have on here ........

So, dont be Shy, if you feel the Anxiety Creeping on .... Sit down, Log on, & Chat away ..... You'll get the very same "Treatment" as you would if you paid out $1000 for sitting / lying on a "professionals" couch ...... & after 15 or 20 minutes "Chatting" that little voice in yer head will say ...... "ANXIETY?????? .............. WHAT ANXIETY .... I feel FINE NOW"

STAY SAFE KIDDO ..... Yer amongst FRIENDS HERE!!!!!

Very inspirational, I will be praying for you and your wife. I'm really glad vaping has helped you, PM me if you ever want to chat or something. I'm practically awake 24/7 haha.

I will do Just that Joey, .. Thank you sooo much for the reply As has been said only 5% make it "back" from a Cardiac arrest in the home Marie has been diagnosed with LQTS ... (her heart fails to "re polarize" after each beat) charge up to you & me ..... She now has an ICD (Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator) in her chest & is on Beta Blockers to slow her heart right down & give it chance to "Charge Up" for the next beat ect .....

I must admit when I think about the "incident" I feel "proud of myself" for actually knowing what to do, I hadn't done any first aid courses for well over 25 years.......

Your offer of a PM / Chat WILL BE taken up in the near future

Keith

I went threw some stuff for a couple of months after I quit smoking. I did not want to go any place even just going to the grocery store was something I dreaded! Im generally a active person always doing something.
I spent allot of time in here and eventually it passed. I just chalk it up to body adjusting to cigarette free after 25 years but it sounds like you have your issues before you quit. I guess for me I forced my self to get out even though I did not want to bike rides helped got a little exercise and broke the cycle of being a hermit.
Im not sure what Anxiety even is but Im sure there are ways you can go about combating it.
I imagine your age has something to do with it also young people face a completely different future than I did and the world is a much scarier place than when I was your age.

Anxiety is different for everyone. Ever had that feeling you were being watched, something bad was about to happen AND you forgot to put on clothes before driving to the mall?
Double that feeling. That is what my mild anxiety feels like, although without the paranoid portion of those three things... Just the anxiousness and unfocused sensations. :)
You cannot focus because of the anxiety and you have anxiety because you cannot focus.

Yup. I get very nervous for no reason whatsoever. I have a feeling something bad will happen for no reason. I normally snap out of it. I don't want to use anything prescription because I could become extremely dependent which causes a whole list of other problems.

I cut way back on smoking over an eight month time period. I was down to 1 o2 a day for a couple of weeks, when I quit. I still had anxxiety and some funny symptoms. Also, somewhat depressed. It's getting better now but it has been one month of dealing with it. I still want a cig here and there but not enough to actually go buy some:)

Surprising how much I missed those last couple of cigs and how much I went through over it.

I am recovering from three years of moderate to severe anxiety, and I can tell you that although anxiety may be triggered by a life event, a chemical, etc., it is conditioned by the human mind from there on out.

Keep this in mind, and while trying things to relieve it, teas, breathing techniques, exercise,,,it may also be a good time to take a big step back and take inventory on your life. I was really good at covering up personal issues and it caught up with me after doing it for 25 years, and I had to figure out how to deal with all of those problems at once, while continuing to work, being depressed, and not taking any drugs (I refused).

I quit drinking coffee, which helped at first. But then I realized that I was only blaming the coffee. I started drinking it again and when I felt the anxiety coming on, I reminded myself that it wasn't the coffee. After a couple weeks I was back to enjoying it again.

This is a quick post from tapatalk since I am at the office hiding in the lounge. But if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. My anxiety got to a point where I was sure I was going crazy. It's a horrible feeling and prob one of the hardest things I have ever dealt with.
Learn to control it (naturally), then you can "have your vape and smoke it too"
